Thank you Suki1964 for your post. As I have said on an earlier post its really good to hear the success storys. And a big applause to you for being smoke free for 4 months! Thats fantastic - are you feeling any better?

Lula-Hula - Dont be ashamed ! - I bet every person on this thread has fell off the wagon at some stage in the past. The fact that you still want to quit is the main thing, and the thing you should be proud of. Keep at it... Are you using NRT or anything? or is it a case of cold turkey?

Kirstmccr - As you know, I am only on Day 1 on Champix - so I have no experience to comment on - But what I would say is that if your feeling like you can go thru the day without a cig - then do it! The sooner the better... Let us know what you have decided on.

Good Luck Everyone.. Enjoy the weather x

You can stop anytime from day 7 so day 8 is just fine. I was gagging to stop by day 5 and held out to day 8 and havent smoked since

At long last i think I can honestly say Im feeling a lot better :) I no longer think about smoking, think about not smoking - Im just a non smoker now :)

One thing though Im dreading when I need to go see smoking friends - I come back stinking. And working in a bar its really hard at times to not wrinkle my nose in disgust when someone comes in from outside having just had a smoke.

I really dont want to be one of those pious ex smokers but jeez - smokers STINK

Feedumall, this thread is definately for you cos you can show all the newbies that it's possible and what a fantastic thing you've achieved and that it IS worth going through the quitting process to become smoke-free.

You are an inspiration just like all the great people on this thread and we need it to continue to be for all those lurkers and newbies :)

Thanks again to all for being so supportive of each other :)

    Afternoon everyone!

It's good to read how everyone is doing and well done to everyone for their progress.

Day 13 of not smoking and feeling ok. I think the initial euphoria of actually managing to stop and stay stopped has worn off and now it's a case of letting it become the norm.

I've felt calmer, almost happier, on the Champix.

Still trying to spend some of the not-bought-ciggies money :rotfl: How difficult can it be lol..but I want a specific type of top in a specific colour and I can't find one! Always the way. Will just keep the cash for when I find something when I'm not looking, as its sure to happen that way!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Its my quit day tomorrow  , day 10 of champix. Oh my god really nervous now as i feel so much pressure to quit tomorrow, ended up having a few ciggies last night after giving them to my partner, but had to go and get them back after 2 hours, i was climbing the walls. Only got about 6 ciggies left and when they are gone tonight that is it, no more smoking EVER.:j

Have got plenty of lollies and stuff in to nibble at, got my tangle to keep my hands busy, and got some games to play on the playstation that should take my mind off things if it gets too much. I think i have got just about everything covered, have told my ds to be on his best behaviour tomorrow as mum is giving up and i dont need the stress! Have told my partner to just bite his tongue if i snap at him and not to argue back. As hopefully i will be back to my usual self in a few days time, (apart from i may have to re-grow my hair after i have pulled it all out)!

Wish me luck and will let you all know how i am getting on tomorrow.
