Hi
I also got my champix today - im going to start them tommorrow and not sure when i should set my quit date - how have others done it? Have you just waited to see how the tablets affect you? Im nervous and excited at the same time!! Good luck everyone and well done to those who have been strong and are smoke free:j Stopped smoking - 2nd Jan 09:j0 -
I set my quit day as the 14th day but after about 10 days I was already down to 3 or 4.. gave up two days early in the end
Has worked wonders for me!
Good luck Kirsty as well:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
I hope this might spur others on- I stopped as a new year's resolution and so far I've managed to keep it. I had patches and they worked well for me. I counted up how much money I've saved by not smoking and it's now just topped £600!! I also have far more energy, but I'm still sometimes moody-I'm not sure if smoking helped even the moods out as I started smoking as a kid of nine and this is the natural me or if it's got anything to do with quitting.0

I went for day eight and couldnt wait for it to come around by day 6
For me it was easier to take the earliest day rather then prolonging the "agony"
Choose a day sooner rather then later and just hold on to the belief that on that day you wont smoke and even if you do "think" you want one, the champix will keep you safe - its what worked for me
Now Im nearly four months smoke free - the longest I have been without a smoke since I was 11 (32 years)
Good luck xxxx0 -
Just got back from doctors, she has given me champix tablets. Just taken my first tablet, so heres hoping. I have tried everything before and nothing has worked, I am 28 and have been smoking since i was about 15 around 20 a day but more like 50 a day if i go out to the pub.
Wish me luck
Good luck - you are now on the countdown to a smoke free future xxxxxx0 -
Another Champix user here - day 5 smoke free and still going strong :T .
Had a letter in the post from Docs surgery today, saying No Smoking Counsellor had written to GP and I need to make a routine appt at docs. Doc will then discuss content of letter with me  Has anyone else had this? I'll see the Counsellor on Tues, so will ask him then anyway.
Been to see parents tonight - they are both very proud of me! My Dad is an ex-smoker, stopped approx 30 years ago, so its good to have his experience and support.
Well done to everyone who's had another non-smoking day and wow, the Champix gang is really growing at the mo. Its a really good drug.Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
