Feel really grotty today. Stinking cold and the start of dreaded MAN FLU :eek:

Would be worse if I was still smoking however. For every negative there is a positive :D

    Take care all

    Afternoon everyone!

2 weeks, 18hrs 22mins as a non smoker for me. I have saved £69.40 and have not smoked 295 cigarettes! As I am doing this without any help (ie patches etc) I am really, really pleased with myself.

I totally agree, MFD, it is the mind games that are the hardest. I have had one really, really bad day when I spent the whole day talking to myself about smoking (I was trying to convince myself that I really wanted to buy cigarettes LOL) but thankfully I didn't give in. The the following day I felt amazingly strong and positive with no cravings at all.

Sadly the husband is still smoking, which can be hard for me as I am around nicotine a lot. Friday night I was really grumpy, a slow internet connection and him smoking made me very bad tempered. In the end, I went to bed with a good book and as soon as I was away from the smoke I felt better.

Hang on in there, peeps. Although the craving still jumps out at me, it is getting less and less frequently and certainly not as strongly.

    We can do this!
  • Ok day 1 & I feel ok! Well considering. I woke up took my champix (after dreaming my wardrobe fell in while I was at the dentist & I got the blame for using my powers to destroy it?? eh!! haha) Anyway I'm trying to keep busy but still have NEED ONE thought in my head. My mouth tastes disgusting & I feel really tired but I'm ok! I think I've done brill myself considering my mam smokes & she's been around me all day. Anyway off to twiddle my tangle toy thing for a bit more! Actually helps!
Hope everyone is ok & not struggling too much!
    Take care LMTP xx

This has just reminded me that when I last went to the Stop smoking clinic I told them I felt like I was getting a cold, the lady said that when you quit smoking your immune system goes all over the place so it's easier to catch a cold etc, anyone heard this before?

Hello everyone, haven't been on here for a while, just thought I'd pop back to see how you are all doing. I see there are lots of new names, which is good.

I haven't given in yet - over three months now - but if I am honest I do still miss it at certain times. Don't know why I should miss such a vile, smelly habit, but there you go! It seems that in TV programmes people are always lighting up, I never used to notice that in the past:confused: but I know I would be mad to start again now after a quarter of a year.

Good luck to all of you, as that old cliche goes, if I can do it anybody can!
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

  • LMTP - going strong, keep it up!

    :T :T MORE DREAM STORIES PLEASE EVERYONE:T :T

    This could be fun lol!

Day 15 for me and going strong, I even think I MIGHT be getting over the grumpy / stressed / depression stage now! Although I will hang fire on that one - DH and I (who normally get along very well when I am smoking) have not had a cross word since Friday night so either he has learned to live with me when 'life is so tough, everything goes wrong for me' :o or I might have stopped feeling so sorry for myself.

I didn't wear a patch yesterday and I was absolutely fine. Got up this morning in my usual 'I don't like Sundays' mood and stuck a patch on my a$$ before I went for a run (call it a stagger!). And took it off when I went in the shower.

Off out to a quiz tonight, a monthly outing with DH's family, so a few drinks and the first time I have been around smokers - wish me luck...even if I don't feel like I need it :D

Good Luck MFD, When I go out now I don't mind not smoking, especially when you watch your friends popping outside for a smoke every so often in the freezing cold! Just try to focus on the quiz, not smoking!
