  • The only person you are giving up for is yourself, the only person you will be cheating (if it is cheating) is yourself.

What will happen next time you have a stressful day? I am not trying to be horrible but stress and depression are part of giving up, if it kicks in for you at day 3 (took til about day 6 for me) then you are going to have to find a way past it.

I think we can safely say that having 10 sets all your medical stats back to day 0 though ;)

Nobody is here to judge you, just support each other as we try and quit. Well done and thank you for being honest. :D

    8 days now for me.

Doesn't help that I'm stressed, but determined to stay quit.

    Well done all.

Somewhere back in this thread, a month or 6 weeks ago I went through the same thing, caved into the stress and depression and had to start again.

Someone, probably Lurkio ;) , pointed me back to the start of the thread to read some of the material there about what giving up does to you mentally (in terms of stress and depression) and I realised that the not smoking was what causing me to be suddenly unable to cope with the stress that normally just sent me running for a fag or 10.

I have had to learn to cope with my stress a different way. It was far too easy to say that other stuff was making me stressed, when in actual fact it was the not smoking that was stressing me out.

    But that's just me

OMG - when did I get SERIOUS

Adz - you should listen to me too ;)

lol Adz - you think you are stressed cos you have given up the fags. it is part of what happens when you give up, you get stressed and depressed and moody.

realise the stress is made worse cos you are not smoking and you're nearly there.

    end of

    plain enough for you?
