when do people stop using patches. Iam thinking of using them up till i come back of my hols on 20th april BUT i dont want to be in my swim suit showing everyone my patch, My mum smokes too so guna be real tough when i go see her

Not sure that the cravings stop even when the nicotine is out of your system...when I have stopped cold turkey before I have still been craving on day 5, 6, 7...never got past day 7 without a little puff :o

The nhs recommend a 12 week course of patches for best success. Although it depends on where you start from. I started on step 2 (of 3) because I had already cut down so much, so I have 4 weeks of step 2 (10mg of nicotine) then 4 weeks of step 3 (less nicotine!).

You can do it quicker I'm sure but there is a higher risk of 're-offending' if you don't do the course apparently.

mumzy! I was going to take your lead and start weaning myself off this thread lol

I've not got a patch on this morning! Got one in my bag just in case but thought I would try a few hours without to see how I go!

    morning all,
been given doxycycline for a chest infection , i went to the gp in the end, the coughing was that bad. glad i did coz i was starting to think giving up the cigs was the main cause, he listenened to my chest and said " miss snails, you have a rather nasty chest infection, you need antibiotics"

so right now, i cant say im reaping the rewards of giving up the fags (day 7) healthwise but i got nearly 40 quid spare cash to go towards some new clothes :j
Bring back mark and lard NOW! or else (please) clique member no. 10 :j

Any cravings you do have after then will be completely in your head and not physical 'withdrawal'

btw - unless you're wearing a thong, you could stick a patch on your a$$ :D :rotfl:

:DNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh :D
