I'm a firm believer that it's entirely psychological with me!! I can go for hours and hours whilst busy without even thinking of cigs so I don;t think I need the NRT!!! I just need to crack the whole ooh it's coffee break I'll have a cig... oh I'm driving I'll have a smoke etc etc!! Four days off cigs and I'm hoping that even if I do slip I'll feel so rough I'll stay off 'em!! If it doesn't work doing it NRT free I'll be seeing my doc!! Have also realised I've been smoking for nearly 12 yrs and I never intended toTotal Debt March 2008 - £9232.19  Virgin loans £5188.80, Halifax OD £2,456.94, Barclaycard £699.60, Virgin Credit card £532.25, Capitalone £354.60 (no idea as they refuse to send me statements now! updating figures as I get them!) Evening all - don't worry basilcat, there's a reason that so many of us fail to quit so many times - it's bl00dy hard!
I went to see the nurse this afternoon and my CO was 3. The nurse was a bit shocked - she expected it to be lower after last Friday (was a 6) but I did go all out on Saturday before I quit on Sunday
I am reasonably happy with a 3, at least it had gone down - I was a bit worried that it might have gone up, I smoked more on Sunday than I have done for weeks!
I am having a ropey afternoon. The nurse is away next week so it is 2 weeks before I have to go back (April fools day no less). Straight away my mind went to 'if I don't have to report for 2 weeks then.... '
I am keeping strong - trying to anyway.
Ailsajayne - good luck for Friday and over the long weekend. We will all be thinking about you (as we try to keep our minds off the cigarettes!)please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Well done for joining this thread Bessy. I'd recommend the NHS stop smoking courses - the one-to-one with the pharmacist worked for me. Still on the nicotine gum - got pkt of 106 2mg gums for a fiver in Asda last week.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Ooohhh - good luck to your sister - that is a hard habit to crack.
Bessy - welcome to the fold! It makes it easier to have somewhere to come and ramble! Look forward to hearing your tales from Thursday - you and your hubby are brave quitting together, on one hand it may make it easier, on the other hand you could kill each other if you are both craving at the same time
Will you be using any nicotine replacement? I thoroughly recommend it if you can get it from your docs.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
