I've had a rotten few days with my cravings for some reason, 6 weeks and its really bad, as bad as it was in week 1! Ate like a pig last night, sweets, cakes, chocolates, really just wanted a smoke. As I do now
Most people have a wobble around that time, skint. It's entirely normal. Accept it for what it is and don't let it win!!!
hang in there, you're doing brilliantly! :T :T :TNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

11 p on a packet of 20 in the budget! that means for those who have successfully given up we will save an extra £40 per year!!0

Congratulations to everyone on the quit campaign - we are all winners in this years budget! :j :j :j (at least in a not buying fags kinda way

Hey IDA
Sorry about your DH - we all know you get moody in the first few days of the quit. PS. I go to Germany in June
Not got much to say today really, except walked past all the smokers as I went for the bus tonight and felt like joining them - but I was talking to Josh lol so didn't.
Keep strong - I need to tell myself that really.

Hi all,
Nice to see so many still succeeding. Well done Adz for your persistance; I'm sure you can do it with a lot of will power and encouragement.
Just got back from St John Ambulance training. We were doing stethoscope techniques with a couple of guys from the county ambulance service. Got told I had really healthy lungs! Amazing after only 5 weeks of non-smoking after 27 years of 20-30 a day. Shows what a difference it makes giving up. We also did blood pressure and mine was normal - also a surprise.
Bad news in the budget about tax increases on alcohol. I can't do alcohol and nicotine withdrawal at the same time. Next they'll want to tax my caffeine as well! Still, as fags will probably rise by 25p-30p a pack by the time you add manufacturers/ vendors rises and VAT, will probably be saving a further £2-£3 a week.
Keep posting guys, this is week 6 for me and you really are keeping me going. Thanks all.
MarkNearly there! Been struggling for 7 years but the results are showing. :j0 -
NO SMOKING DAY today so good luck to everyone stopping today - just think of it as the first day of the rest of your life!!!
Well done to everyone else here who is doing so well - hope you are all having a good day!!
I'm not I'm thoroughly miserable and if I didn't know how stupid it was I would be outside having a cigarette now! Why - its my birthday - my husband forgot , thought it was tomorrow, my mother sent me a handbag that I wouldn't be seen dead with and my brother sent me a cheque in the wrong name to go with the cheque he sent at Xmas with my name spelt wrong!! I know at 35 I should be above this but not feeling well anyway and just a little bit hormonal! Sorry had to have a whinge to someone:rolleyes:
KYHA VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KYH!!
What a rotten shame it wasn't such a great one, though you really did GREAT in not letting you get it down to the stage where you caved in!! For that reason alone I reckon you really achieved something wonderful this Birthday so congratulations all the way round!
Don't apologise for having a whinge, that's what the thread's for and what we're here for. Get it off your chest (along with the tar!!) and move on again tomorrow when your husband does something about his memory - I hope!
All the very best KYH, all the very best to EVERYONE too, keep it going and keep strong!
