    Hi guys :)
Any quick advice for Mum (70) who's thinking about quitting?
She's bought some 'Nicorette something'. I asked if she couldn't get FREE help from the doctors, she said she'd have to wait, fill in forms and go back to see a nurse, so it put her off. Any other way she can get stop smoking aids cheap?

She also get's 2 relatives visiting daily, both smoke. How's she supposed to quit when both are puffing away? I don't smoke, but Personally, I wouldn't dare do it in front of someone who's quitting. I'm not sure Mum would even ask them not to smoke.
Is there anything I could do to help Mum? I was thinking something of the lines of 'I'll give you £100 if you manage to quit'.

Is there anything that can help with the horrible cough she gets in the morning - it sounds really sore :(
    Any advice greatly appreciated.

Try your local supermarket pharmicist or Boots, Crossdales etc. They will normally see you straight away and will do the nicorettes on prescription for 3 months. I'm using Sainsburys and find them great.

    Best of luck

    Mark
Nearly there! Been struggling for 7 years but the results are showing. :j

Hi Lurkio please try to impress on Mrs Lurks that 'at risk of...' means exactly that and that it may not happen and all her achievements will be in vain if she gives way on a 'maybe'. I know you're trying your best to get her back on track Lurkio, keep it up as you're so right.......her health is SO much more important!!! All the very best and remind her that often these things are sent for a purpose anyway and that if she should lose the job, that there may be an even better one just waiting for her!

    Love to you both, Sue.

    Thanks Sue :)

Unfortunately she has now got completely de-motivated and just wants to get out of it......

She bought another pack of ten yesterday    , but has promised that she will be abck on the wagon after those. Knowing what I know about smoking, I personally don't think it will be.......

Like I said, the job (and enormous drop in household income) strangely doesn't worry me too much. I just hate the fact that she has gone and smoked :o . Can't talk to her about it at the moment anyway, treading on eggshells as it is......

Thanks for you kind words, anyway :)

Well done to everyone else :T :T :T and was that jo1972 I saw skulking around yesterday, too :undecided ?

I thought I would ask him for one, but no, I reasoned with myself just how is smoking a fag going to make the situation any better? and of course it wouldn't have.

    :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T

Sounds as though your habit of smoking has reduced. The habitual part is the hardest part to rid so well done for reasoning the situation so well. Sorry to hear about your little car, but at least you are ok :)

    How's everyone this morning?

Yeah sorry to hear about Mrs L, hopefully she'll remember how great it is to be smoke free soon (that's providing she actually enjoyed it!). Good luck to her :)

How's everything else going, still training? How much have you raised for sport relief?

I'm good thanks, supposed to be doing housework :undecided
