  • Hi Jo, Jet and fellow quitters
I know how frustrating it is when the stop/start thing happens - perhaps I'm wrong - but maybe a brief switch off from quitting to re-motivate yourself and to stop feeling guilty ... .cause guilt just makes the smoking worse!!! You know you can do it!!
    Take care.

  • Just had a horrible moment .... shouted at dd, deserved but a little more severe than necessary - hate the uptight feeling that comes at times like that because cigarettes don't make everything alright but at moments like that I feel it will!! Its that horrible Mr Nick O'Teen trying to trick me again ... I must defeat him ... lol. What am I like talking to no one about this stupid habit, but do you know it really helps ... ha,ha. Thanks all.
    Take care

Well I was gonna be on my way home but we're in the middle of hale stones and a thunder storm so don't think I'll leave yet...I suppose the bonus is that carrying my bag, trying to keep my umbrella up in gale force winds and dodging puddles would make it difficult to hold a fag in my hand on the way to the station!!!!

I'm going to buy the Neil Cassey one to keep me motivated have heard good things about it!

    I'm sure you won't regret it IDA :T :T :T

I waited for the epiphany that Allen Carr talks about, too and it didn't happen with me. No bolt out of the blue. BUT, I do now realise that I do not have any desire to smoke and I'm quite proud of the fact. Similar thing, I guess

Get Neil Casey - it WILL help

Best wishes to everyone else stopping

indebt - i recco the NC book i felt really positive after reading it, the AC book bored me a bit
  • Just a quick good night - off to watch Hot Fuzz - this doesn't get any easier but my motivation is still strong so will persevere!

I've also decided to completely quit drinking for a while, the reason I slip every time is because I have a couple of drinks and think s** it, I'll just have one fag. Then once that seed has been planted there is no way no how that I will not have one. So not drinking means a clear head and no smoke thoughts!!

I'm still battling - down to 5 a day. The alcohol thing happens with me too. Once the little monster in your brain gets old of the idea that you could just have one, he goes for it doesn't he ? Rational thinking goes out of the window.

Neil Casey didn't do it for me found AC more logical, however different things work for different people. Hope it presses the button for those trying it.

I started a new job last week and the 7 hours I'm there each day it doesn't bother me a bit, soon as I get home Nasty Nick rears his head. Is it the 15 minutes peace I get before the troops start arriving home from school/work ?
I don't know, just got to change my routine I think. Trying to get into Flylady routines as on the OS board, so those 15 minutes could be better used.

I just know when I stopped last summer I felt amazingly good, energy was limitless, house was spotless, felt brilliant. Need to get my head back there.

    Thanks for listening
