  • You're not alone.

The only thing I keep thinking about though is starting again.
Why bother? I mean think about it. What's the point of putting that dirty smelly thing back in your mouth? is it going to make you feel better?

Well, of course it isn't. it's just going to take you back to that drug induced haze.

Be positive. I'm enjoying being a non-smoker (not an ex-smoker). I'm not pretending I'm not getting those pangs, we all get them!
The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.

Morning all, sorry IDA that I desserted you!!

I've been camping out on the Gambling Loophole thread trying to get my head round matched betting (keeps my mind off the smoking :rotfl:)

You are doing great, are you saving the money you are not spending on fags or is it money you don't have anyway but always seem to find? Maybe saving the money and watching it mount up might help? If all else fails crack out the Allen Carr/Neil Casey and read all the analogies again!

Hi all, hope you're all still going strong!

    My stats....

***Three days, 11 hours, 48 minutes and 49 seconds. 52 cigarettes not smoked, saving £11.60. Life saved: 4 hours, 20 minutes.
    ***

Today, the thought that i can tell my nephews (who have been bugging me to give up smoking for ages) next time i see them that i've given up smoking is giving me strength to stick at it...

    ...Good luck all...

I found another interesting website to help you stop smoking run by a Hypnotherapist called Max Kirsten. He has even helped Ewan McGregor stop smoking! See Ewan's testimonial video. There are some free mp3 downloads available. The site is at:

thanks to everyone who has thanked me!
  • Afternoon all, day 10 - really can't believe I've got here. What I find now is I'm more miserable than I was before about quitting - last week I was excited this week I'm sort of subdued. I keep thinking about the ciggies I did enjoy(??) but reminding myself of all the ones I hated. Whilst I'd love one I don't think I could buy any - but still not complacent. Hope everyone else is doing okay.
    Love and hugs

IDA - you're a real inspiration to me so don't get disheartened pls.

I hvn't had one yet 2day and I'm def not going to buy any and I'm not going to see any smokers for the rest of the day so can't be tempted. I feel very irritated and annoyed and generally p'd off - but am hoping that will pass within the first 3 yrs of giving up lol
