    Hi everyone,
just wondered if anyones had hypnotherapy? I'm booked in on tuesday and cant wait! Its costing 65 quid but it will pay 4 itself in the long run!

Just wondered if it had worked for anyone else?

    Thanks xxx

    Hi,

Sm1 at work had hypno a couple of weeks ago and is doing brilliantly :T

I'm going for it 2moro (despite having half a pack of tobacco left :p ) I need to give up for all the usual reasons - health/kids/money blah de blah.

Does any1 have any top tips? or is it just a case of will power? I haven't got any help and am just planning on going cold turkey and posting on here if I fancy a fag. I've smoked for 14/15 yrs and gave up when I was 18 for a couple of years. I found that putting a bit of water in an ashtray, smelling it and thinking 'I don't want my breath to smell like that' worked for me at the time plus determination to prove those that said I couldn't do it wrong ;) Now I'm the one who doesn't think she can do it and need to prove myself wrong :T

    I CAN DO IT!!!!

Well done to everyone today. :j

IDA - I feel like I have lost a friend and I too, get told I can have just the one, then start again. But that does not work for me. I am an all or nothing girl so I had to just stop, cold turkey. Its been 3 months since I stopped and all I have smoked in that time is one roll up (which tasted horrible!! lol). I am slowly starting to feel like a non smoker now, even though obviously there are times when I feel like one, though I don't want one.

    Keep up the good work!!

    Good morning everyone,

I hope you are all feeling bright and breezy on this wonderful summer morning  .

God it looks bloody miserable outside today. Had to get up at 6 to take my DD to work. It was like a winters morning out there.

Well I started on the stage 2 patches on Thursday. I felt really disappointed that the patches were actually smaller :o How pathetic is that? :rotfl:

I am working in Folkestone at the moment, helping repair the earthquake damage. On Wednesday I was in a house that was obviously a smokers house. I could not believe how bad it smelt of stale smoke and ash. My house used to smell like that  If that's not enough to put me off, then I don't know what will. No wonder my kids used to moan about their clothes smelling of smoke.

According to SilkQuit I have NOT smoked 1120 ciggies to date and have added 3 days 21 hours and 20 minutes to my life. I wonder how much more actual time I have spent working by not slipping out to 'just have a quick ciggie'.

Does anyone know the average time it takes to smoke a ciggie?

Keep strong and healthy, speak soon.

:T For all the quitters and for those who are 'thinking' about it :hello:

hi all, welldone to those that have stopped and what rae you waiting for , for those just thinking about it. on my 13 day of not smoking, and i'm not gonna say its easy. determined not to after reading allan carrs book and with the help of lozenges and the fact that over the next 10 years i would have spent £10,000 on trying to kill myself.... anyhoo its been hard, i've been very moody, but then again i'm moody anyway. wish me luck, cause i think i'm now addicted to the lozenge and i've got to try to get off these next.

  • Well still tough, always seemed to smoke more at the weekend so more aware that I'm not smoking!! Just a few facts about me and my "old" habit - I'm 42 and started smoking at 15 (can still remember that first cigarette being encouraged by a girl younger than me!!!) and also walking to school feeling super cool and grown up and boasting "I can give up if I want to I just don't want to!" I stopped for a year July 1990 - July 1991 so in total I have been smoking 26 years omg more than half my life!!! Where does the time go. Stay strong!

Good luck to anyone trying to give up smoking. Stick at it, remember even if you end up having a ciggie at some point don't think you've failed it is just a temporary set back and keep going.

I gave up 6 months ago after seeing my dad go through open heart surgery. It frightened me to death and I didn't quite fancy going through the same thing.

I used the Paul McKenna Quit Smoking Today Book and CD. It worked for me and at £5/£6. It is a good investment - think how much it will save you in money and how much it will give you in better health.

Also when calculating how much you will save by giving up think about the true cost of smoking e.g. how much you have to earn to prior to tax, nat. ins. etc. before being able to buy those little ciggies.

Dig deep, believe in yourself and go for it.
