Have a great smoke free weekend.
Take care all,

Hey ILA!!!
Who knows? I know people that live in Dublin and Wales and they say that its really working well there and it just seems the norm now. Just thank your lucky stars we won't be one of those people having to try and find a seat outside or huddle in doorways...especially with all this lovely warm hot weather we are having.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
Morning all day 6 and still finding it tough - grrrr! But not too tough just irritating and wish it would stop! Personally I think the no smoking ban is a good thing, it certainly encouraged me and dh make the decision to quit - so sick of being almost the only smokers and feeling really anti-social!!!
In my head I'm euphoric I've quit in my heart its like loosing an old friend how stupid is that!!
One of the biggest problems I have with the quitting is the advice that says "if you have one don't worry its just one and you can still be a quitter" - I have to completely ignore that advice cause in my head thats giving me carte blanche to smoke - it really has to be all or nothing for me and I know if I have just one that will be it and my quit will be over. Anyone else have any problems with all the advice we're given.
Luck and love to all

I smoked around 10 a day and have cut down to just two. I have one left and am not going to buy anymore cigarettes, what with the smoking ban coming in it's going to be a whole lot easier for me. I'm more determined than ever to quit the evils as my bf quit on Monday, not to mention for health reasons, saving money etc.
Everyones doing fab at the minute and i hope to become a part of this thread from tomorrow as a non-smoker :cool:0 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: Knowing my luck it will be a Monday morning!!
Well, yesterday I was awful, really, really awful...moody, bad tempered, snapping at everyone and generally being a right pain in the backside....DH (who BTW hasn't stopped smoking yet -just smokes well out of sight of me) tells me this is perfectly normal... he's just a bit concerned how I'll react when the cravings really do set in :rotfl:
Seriously, yesterday was really tough. It was as though I had a little devil sitting on my shoulder saying "Go on, just one cigarette won't hurt you...you deserve it!" and several times I very nearly gave in...but you'll be pleased to know that I just slapped that little devil right off my shoulder and went off to find some poor innocent person to snap at!
I'm hoping today (day 4) will be easier.
Hope everyone is doing well and keeping strong!
Oh, BTW, believe it or not, the smoking ban coming in tomorrow will def help if you're absolutely determined to stop - I'm in Scotland and we've had the ban in place for over a year now - and, even as a smoker, pubs and restaurants are nicer, cleaner smelling, fog free places to want to visit...and just think we'll all be helping to keep them that way....
Have a good day everybody!

Hi ILA,
Just spotted your post and thought I would put my tuppence worth in. I'm from Scotland and we've had the smoking ban in place for over a year now - March last year it came into force.
I think people here half expected riots in the streets...I know there was a lot of mutterings about infringement of civil rights blah blah blah...however, the reality of it was everyone accepted it quite peacefully. I know of one case locally where one guy went into every pub on the first night of the ban and deliberately lit up a cigarette in protest...police came into it eventually and took him home
Publicans moan that their takings are down and a few pubs have closed (no more than normal though) people here stand outside the pubs to have a cig... costly to the landlords though cos they have to provide suitable ashtrays - naturally the suppliers have cashed in on this and charge about £60 - £80 for a wall mounted ashtray - I know because I had to buy them for the workplace)
Wherever possible, pubs, cafes etc have provided outside tables to accommodate smokers. (Looks very continental) One pub locally has even put up a big canopy in case it rains and provided patio heaters in the beer garden.
Hope this helps!Debt £171000 - Current Debt £168883Between Oct 08 and Apr 09 Pay off £12k = £2117/£12000£2 Savings Pot = £80 -
Hi everyone,
just wondered if anyones had hypnotherapy? I'm booked in on tuesday and cant wait! Its costing 65 quid but it will pay 4 itself in the long run!
Just wondered if it had worked for anyone else?
Thanks xxxBaby Thomas Jake 'TJ' is due 01.11.100 -
Hi Fannyannie
I did hypno about 10 years ago and unfortunately didn't work for me at all however the hypnotist was recommended by a friend who had quit with him first time - so it definately works for some and hopefully it will for you. Good luck.

Am I the only one finding today particularly tough, is it the weather or the fact I'm not working but I hate to say it "I'd love a fag" but I don't want one - its day 6 and I just don't want to crack. I'll keep doing the breathing - thanks for this forum it does help to rattle away and talk myself out of giving in!!I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0
