Hello all, second day not smoking. I am seeing the no smoking nurse tomorrow so I hope she measures my carbon monoxide level it has to have gone down.
I have been on a longer than usual walk today with my dog on the first walk -he has 4 walks we live in a flat, and I feel quite good. I am trying to keep myself occupied. Not craving a cig it just goes through my mind now and again or I reach out for one.
Good luck everyone and take care,

Hi ILA well done to you, know what you mean about not craving just reaching out!! I'm on day 3 now and its going okay. I've a feeling my dh has cracked and I'm dreading going home cause it will mean there are ciggies in the house, really don't want to weaken - pray I can be strong!! Good luck everyone.

I quit last Friday, from about 20/day. I had already made the switch to roll-ups, but I really preferred proper cigs, and decided for sake of my ££ and health that rollies were just not nice enought to warrant carrying on... though of course it's been MUCH tougher than that sounds... but am doing ok and bl**dy determined to keep going.
Good luck y'all.0 -
phew just spoke to DH and he hasn't cracked (yeah) thank the lord for that. Finding it tough today - like my subconscious is trying to find an excuse (any excuse) to have a cigarette - does that make sense??? (probably not - lol) Almost turning everything into a crisis so I feel the "need" for a cigarette and can "justify" it if I do. Like at work, no milk for coffee, oh no disaster quick go buy fags it will make you feel better - ha,ha .... not quite that extreeme but you get the picture! Thankfully I'm wise to the ways of Mr Nick O'Teen and will battle him from every angle - this war I will win!!! Good luck all.

OMG really stressing - just feel like crying - god I'm pathetic!! Just had to deal with the Tax Credit people cause our award has been reduced by £23p/w without any explanation - not resolved yet but being dealt with?? Kids doing my head in and I'm barking at them and they really don't deserve it. I know a cigarette isn't a cure and would resolve none of these things but at this point I feel like it might help - no I won't give in!! Thank goodness I don't have a shop too close by - I must stay strong. Anyone else been here got any advice!!

All I can say is hold it out, ride the wave. Does sound extremely patronising but that's all you can do. Try and busy yourself doing summat, can someone else watch the kids for half hour and you go for a walk?
Chew gum, eat choklit, eat magnums by the dozen (sorry Oops, couldn't resist that one!), do anything to take the craving away.
You are doing SO well
Try to keep it up.
Thinking of ya.

Hello all, IDA my goodness I really feel for you. Can you not get some help? I am on Champix and have cut down and stopped so easily. BUT it can still go wrong for me.
I went to the no smoking nurse and my carbon monoxide level is NIL ZERO NAUGHT. Hooray. I don't think the C.M. level is the same as the nicotine one, does anyone know how long that takes to leave your system?
'im indoors is being very good, twice now he has brought me my tablet and a glass of water. He has said though that my breath is much nicer now so maybe that is why he is helping.
Good luck everyone especially poor IDA,
Take care ILAI live in a small drinking town with a fishing problem0 -

Well done everyone! :j
IDA - I know what you are going through. As its been 3 months now, the cravings have lessened though it still feels like I am missing something. But when I do get them, it only last for a couple of mins, so just busy yourself. It will pass.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
Hi everyone,
Can I join in too please? I stopped today and I'm using patches - so far, it's okay...a bit wobbly mid morning though and had a bit of a meltdown (I've pasted my meltdown moment below).
Things were fine for the first hour or so, then I realised that the bl**dy patch kept peeling off and refused to stick to my skin so I had to use another one - now being a good DFW'er this annoyed me (well, these patches are expensive!) and to make matters worse I had to stick the damn thing under the strap of my bra to make sure it stayed in place - so, just because I was suffering from nicotine withdrawal, I wrote a stinking letter to the manufacturers telling them exactly what I thought of their product and told them that it was difficult enough to stop smoking without having to keep peering into my bra every five minutes to make sure the blooming thing was still thereAnd to make matters worse I went straight out there and then and posted the letter - wonder if they'll reply?
Still, to be fair, once that outburst was over I'm very proud to say that I haven't smoked today :T - mind you, if I keep having these crazy outbursts and writing mad letters to people they might insist I start again for the sake of humanity :rotfl:
Looking forward to be smoke free as well as debt free :T
