TOBRUK. Funnily enough I am finding it easier than the last time I gave up.That was for 4 months. It has helped having someone to share my journey with ( you guys ) and I have realised that 99% of it is in the mind. The physical action of not smoking is simple. You dont light one !
I am cold turkey simply for the reason that as it will come done to the mental side anyway I may as well cut out the middle man so to speak. Hope you are all feeling Ok and will pop in after I have been shopping

This is a very good point, you are doing fantastic YM :T
How is everyone else today? I'm on a first aid training course for the next 4 days, still gotta leave the house at the crack of dawn but will be home earlier I hope. Luckily for me the course is being held in the conference room of a golf course which is only a 2 min drive from my house :j . There are 2 others from work also going on the course but they both have to travel from 10 miles away. I think that's the first time travelling somewhere has gone in my favour for a long time:D

Hi all, I'm feeling rough today - been up all night with pain ... again! A little easier at the moment but with that ... feeling a bit fed-up! I suppose that's because I'm so tired after two bad nights. Anyway, hope everyone else is doing ok - I might see you later0

Hey
Well, I don't want to be melodramatic but I won't be posting on here for a good long while as my house burnt down on Thursday night along with everything I own so I have no internet and a lot of other things on my mind for now! Thanks for all the help and suuport so far, mumzy, congrats to you, and good luck to all those who have just quit.
All my best wishes and love

Hi JoeHel
Thanks for your kind words - no, nobody was hurt but there was quite a lot of damage done so I'll have to be very moneysaving over the next few months as we start to replace everything (no we didn't have insurance!)
However, things are just things and I am really lucky to be alive so I'm not worrying too much about the things we lost.
I can't wait for this year to be over! Will hopefully have a new flat by the new year so will come back online then. Til then, I wish all of you all the best - despite all my nagging and smugness about quitting, I had a relapse so perhaps the new year will also be time to join you again as no-smoking newby!
I really will miss you guys!

BigEars. My god. Sorry to hear of your disaster. Sounds like you have a great attitude though. Hope everything pans out OK for you.

Roll on day 6
Good luck to you all and thanks for the support

Hi,
BigEars - soooo sorry to hear. Thank goodness no one was hurt.
I must apologise to the whole thread now, as I won't be around much for a while either. I feel really really bad doing this as there are a lot of people who are at quite a crucial stage and need all the support they can (yes, even mine!).
I don't want to sound mysterious but I won't say why, I just need to devote some time and energy to those I love.
I may pop on from time to time to see how you are, but if I feel like I feel now, I won't be posting. I will be thinking of you and sending my constant quitting vibes to you all
I am truly truly sorry....... hope you can understand and won't flame me too much if/when I return
xx (and a hearty handshake for ym)
:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
Sorry to hear that TNG.
Understand though. Done the same myself a couple of months ago. I was spending tooooo much time on here and my nearest and dearest were being neglected. Now I limit my time on here and generally pop in when I can.
Thanks for your support and all the best and see you when you feel up to posting again.
Good luck and merry Xmas to you and your family.
( Gruff handshake ) :rotfl:

Oh god mate, what an absolute nightmare. Was it an owned or rented property? Did you have buildings insurance to cover the house, if not the contents??!
I hope you get the chance to pop on now and again but obviously understand you have a lot on your plate and higher priorities than here!!!
I hope you are signed up to your local freecycle scheme where you may be able to quickly replace some essential "furniture" and white goods stuff for free?
I am not expecting to be popular for saying this but I hope you know it comes from the side of really wanting to offer advice that will HELP your situation!!!
I completely understand the feeling of reverting to your old "friend" the fag at a monumentally stressful time like this, but I wouldn't be supporting you or your mse attempts if I didn't point out that £5-odd a day on a drug addiction that you'd already overcome and KNOW won't help change your situation one little bit for the better is MAD BEYOND WORDS!!!! If there is any way you can focus your efforts on getting through this without that useless false crutch it'll make a massive difference financially. You need every penny you have!
I really hope I haven't offended you by saying that. I just really feel for you and wish there was something I could do to help!!!QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0
