CONGRATULATIONS MUMZY!!
I'm sure Tobruk is right - your doc may be able to prescribe you something to help in the circumstances. Probably not any meds like Zyban or the other one, but maybe gum, inhalator or patches?
Or maybe go the WhyQuit site and look at stuff about pregancy and smoking if you think that would help motivate you (or maybe that would make it harder - I don't know - what do you think?!)
I know it SHOULD make you want to stop even more, but I know my sister smoked though all 3 of her pregnancies. I wouldn't judge one way or the other - I've never been pregnant and I've no idea if I'd have been able to quit if I had!QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0 -
Well, day 1 almost done! :jI just hope I get through day 2 ok! I must say that when I have a pang or think about it I do miss it in a strange way - I know that sounds really odd and bad
It's the inhaling and taste at the time, but perhaps that's the time the nicotine hits you?? The taste afterwards is horrible - it's just at that time ... Oh I don't know! ... ignore me I'm talking jibberish :rotfl:
Anyway, I hope everyone else is doing ok
mumzy, hope you are ok0 -
Woohoo Mumzy, congrats :j :j
Tobruk, you've done so well today
YM, you are doing great too!

Hi jo, I have got through it I'm just hoping I can get through tomorrow as today! As long as I don't get a few pangs and think oh I'll go to the shop ... take the patch off and a few hours later have one  No no no!!
I'm going to go to bed in a bit - not sure if I'll take the patch off before going to bed as when I used them before, the dreams were terrible - I dream anyway (often) but they were mad!
Where is jo0 -
Tobruk you're doing great and I just know you can keep going. I wouldn't wear the patch at night too - it's not like you used to smoke during your sleep and the lack of nicotine during sleeping hours never kept you awake with awful pangs did it! heh heh
There's a great list of quitting tips and motivational reasons on WhyQuit.com, here... They make a lot of sense and I can identify with all of them!!!

That's a good sign mate. Have a lovely sleep. Hopefully you'll find it helpful to read when you wake up, if you need it.QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0 -
Hey Congrats mumzy.
You will have to change user name when number 3 arrives. Could be tricky as Mumof3 has got there first :rotfl:
Well done TOBRUK You have done great. I found that once I had gone the first day the second was easier. That was for me though but you will be Ok. Congratulate yourself on your achievment and it is nice to not smell of fags though eh.
Have a nice sleep all and It is my last night shift and then 4 days off :T

I'm just going to say that maybe today will be better for me. Did really well up until about 4pm. Didn't get the chance to get on here.
