Oh forgot to add....I noticed that Tesco's have stopped their Nicorette '2 for £20' offer but have replaced it with Nicquiten 'buy 1 get 1 free' instead, which is even better!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

Hi all
I have not had one since the weekend and I am feeling OK, hope i don't give in this weekend.
My healthcare asst in boots was lovely this week, she said about when you slip up think of it as "ok i have a ONE fag" when you used to smoke 20 a day. Thats 140 in a week. if you have had one THAT'S 139 THAT YOU HAVEN'T SMOKED. I thought that was brilliant. Boots still have their promotion for 2 for £18 and if you sign up with them you can get the patches on prescription.
Good luck allOfficial DFW Nerd Club - member no: 538

Hey everyone!
Oooops - shut your face.I'm off to the sports centre today to join for me and OH - want to start up badminton again.
I'm actually doing fine with the no smoking at home on a day to day basis, but holiday recently was a toughie but I got through it without having one. I am off to Norwich this weekend to see my best mates and I usually smoke like a chimney when I am there, so will be another test for me. They smoke the odd joint when I am there so it will probably make me feel like having a ciggie but I shan't.
Not long til 1 July!! :j
Good luck today everyone! :beer:A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
Hi Everyone, just joined this website initially to get a few tips on fixing my very small debt (bank charges are pulling me down...have requested refund from Abbey...awaiting reply) but I really need to have another crack at quitting. I've got an appt. at our local clinic for next Thurs. I've got nicotinell gum in the house and I would give up now (got 1 fag left in packet) but the last time I used solely gum, I got terrible mouth ulcers! Should I wait until my appt. next week...or just go for it today? Also is there a place for all the links for silk quit, quitnet etc. that you talk about. I've got to stop, I can't afford it, health is suffering....all the reasons you guys are quitting. Any help and advice muchly appreciated.

GRRRR I just typed a great long message and lost it!!
Ann, welcome to the board and to the thread and well done on deciding to give up smoking.
Scroll back to the first couple of pages of this thread and you'll find the links to siltquit etc.
If you decide to give up today, Tescos are selling Niquitin stuff BOGOF, and someone mentioned on here that Wilkinsons are doing a better deal than that on NRT, scroll to the page or 2 before this one and read what it was. I would look for you but I gotta go home now but didn't wanna go before saying hello
Good luck, keep us updated on what you've decided to do and how you are.

Hi all
Congratulations to all the current nonsmokers and strength to all those (like me) aiming to quit!!
Can I join??? Still smoking  but currently reading Allen Carr and have a quit date of Monday 25th June - now my exams are out of the way:j !!! Now must be honest and I'm feeling scared, have quit before the longest time being 12 months (15 years ago)! DH had major heart attack almost 7 years ago (aged only 39:eek: ) and even that didn't convince us to stop!!! (shame on us!!) We're spending over £50   a week on the evil weed and as you can see from my sig I can't afford it!!! I want to stop, I need to stop and with willpower, Allen Carrs wisdom and your support I WILL stop. Look forward to a long, healthy, smokefree association with you all.

IDA, welcome
You can do it, you've done it before so you can do it again, although no one says it's gonna be easy unfortunately. Is your DH gonna do it too?
Good luck, stick with us (even before 25th), get some inspiration from those on here and we look forward to you joining us on Monday!!!

Cheers Jo, I'll have a look for those links in a bit (gotta do tea) I get free prescriptions because I'm on Thyroxine. Can I get gum or tabs or patches, whatever on prescription?

I believe so, but don't quote me on that. I'm sure someone will be along later to confirm.
I'm off home now, speak to you all tomorrow!
Good luck Ann xDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
