The feeling sick will hopefully help me to keep my weight down and feeling dizzy I would expect to have when you give up smoking.
God, do you really have to take something that gives you those side-effects? I just stopped (after 15 years by the way, so I was expecting withdrawal), no patches, gum or anything as I didn't want anything else going into my system and of course, there are times I want a ciggie, thats natural, but I haven't experienced any side effects at all, apart obviously from feeling like a ciggie sometimes! It just sounds a bit grim, thats all.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -

Thanks Jo, I am back up and running - literally - up early today and went to the gym so I wasn't thinking about lighting up.
How is being smoke free going for you, and have you got your head round matched betting - I have given up as I am no carol vordaman!!:rotfl:Oh my, it's gonna take a while to reply to everyone here!
FBS, sorry but gotta laugh at your addiction to the spray :rotfl:, don't take it in a bad way it's just that you are so much like me, I'll latch on to anything - I wish fresh fruit smoothies were addictive! Good luck with the patch/inhalator - keep us updated on here and get some support too.
Dragon, aren't you good saving your non smoking money! Enjoy spending it!
Oops, well done for jumping straight back on the wagon! Forget the slip up and learn from it :T
ILA, good luck with the Champix - keep us updated of how you're finding it.
Rich, I shall have a look out for the Neil Casey book this arvo whilst I'm supposed to be working  - thanks for the tip, stick around and share your wisdom :rotfl:
TNG, how you doing?
Sea, when you get a craving, take a deep breath and remember why you've given up. I find that helps me a lot. Then I think of the money I'm saving!! Good luck Sea, you will get there.
Andy, thanks for the support
Costa, jump back on that wagon girl! Don't worry about the slip up, you are strong! Good luck.
Jenchin, well done on doing the race for life :j not smoking is going to have such a huge impact on your life as you are obviously fit. Me, I just run 20 yards for the bus and I'm wiped out for the day
Lou, you are doing so well keep it up!! I love your 'smell my breath' bit of your signature :rotfl:
Right, I'm off to find this Neil Casey book and then I'd better do some work cos I've spent the whole morning trying to get my head arount Matched Betting, which is very frustrating and not doing much good for my cravings
Hope you're all well?

Morning all,
ILA, that sounds awful, reminds me of morning sickness!! Well if it works for you then it's worth it. I hope the need for a fag lessens very soon. Keep us updated with your progress
Costa, gym? In the morning? That sounds worse than ILA's side effects :rotfl: hope you have a good day! I'm not doing too bad, gonna try and get that Neil Casey book today, read the instructions to matched betting on the way home last night and I'm still none the wiser. But I have promised the others on the £1k in 2 months challenge thread that I'll join them in MB'ing so better read the instructions again :rotfl:

Morning fellow quitters :hello:
I had my carbon monoxide tested last night and it was ZERO :T LOL I said it cant be so the nurse let me do it again and it was right - it has gone up to about 4 or 5 on a hot day when I have been out in traffic but not smoking. My mobile went off right in the middle of the waiting room  and 2 guys started dancing to it while I rummaged around in my bag trying to find it and switch it off :rotfl: am also getting to know a few fellow quitters there too. Told the nurse about the relapse and she wasnt too bothered about it so has put me down to the medium level of patches as of Thursday
:j Well done everybody ( especially Costa )
I went out for a run at the weekend and managed 2 miles but my legs have only just about stopped achingI have a 10k run to do in September so really need to get back into training. I am a bit of a fair weather jogger though.

When people stop smoking, is it normal for their to not be able to get to sleep.. or when they do get to sleep.. wake up again some hours later?0

The Waltons, I have found this to happen to me although they do say that giving up smoking doesn't effect your sleep patterns. Have you given up for long?DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
