Morning all, It's a great inspiration reading how well you are all doing. I've lapsed twice in the past two days, can't justify it, it's always alcohol related and that tells me something...
I have been analysing my past smoking habits and notice that when it's out of my head how much more relaxed I feel, not seaching for the next available 'free' moment to have a puff. Feel tense when I smoke, waiting for the fix or the need. I'm convinced this is a mental addiction not a physical thing.
    Not going to stop stopping.

FrugalJo - you hvae hit the nail on the head, you do feel tense when you smoke, when I have lapsed in the past you feel really down. I am off to boots at lunchtime to stock up on more patched - this weekend I am not going to smoke - there I have said it!!

I noticed that patches are being sold in Tescos, 2 for £20! Plus there were some other NRT things there but didn't have time to look.

I think the offer's been on for a couple of weeks so you might wanna be quick incase the offer runs out.

I'll be back later, boss mithering me...

    Hi Jeff,

    Welcome!

Is this the drug that was on the front of the papers the other week? If so, you might wanna wait a couple of weeks cos I did read that they were trying to push it through so that it's available on prescription before 1st July. Maybe try ringing your GP or ring your local council and ask for the PCT number, they will put you in touch with a non-smoking cessation clinic who will probably know more about it.

Or maybe try ringing ASH or some other anti-smoking organisation?

Good luck, stick around and hopefully the non-smoking vibes will rub off. Keep us updated.

After 26 years of smoking i have decided to stop... for good! ,last time was 8 years ago ,the day after my ex-wife left... no stress!!!!

Only started due to problems with belguim a few years ago in my truck

So far it has been 2 weeks and no cravings... except for more coffee :)

no patches or gum needed.. just 110% willpower.

  • hi all,

i have been on the nasal spray for 9 weeks now and am as addicted to that as i was to smoking so i have decided that on monday i am going to stop it and go back on patch for 1 week (bought 7 for 8.99 today on boots webste) and gum for the next few weeks (bought 4mg 105 pieces on boots.com also 8.99)

i have to say i am quite apprehensive! eek the main thing i s tho i rely so heavily on the spray that i cant bear to be without it and i dont like that feelin!
