Right, that is nearly day 1 out of the way!!
I am going to bed in a minute just to make the day end quicker!
It has been really hard work but at least I have done it!
I have found it hard and all I have done is think about smoking and keep thinking that I have all this time on my hands. Although I have found myself being on time for things today, even getting the kids to school this morning as I didn't have to have 3 fags before 8.30am. That makes me sound really bad but we were always late for school as I "had" to have 3 before school. It has just got me thinking about how my life does (did) revolve around fags.
Anyway looking forward to day 2.
I hope everyone has had a good day.:T

That is absolutely FANTASTIC and you should be so proud of yourself!!! I remember going to bed at about 9pm on day one too.. heh heh You have hit the nail totally on the head with your comment about being on time for things - how everything in life is "just in a minute when I've had this ciggie...." Our flat has never been tidier in the mornings because I have an extra 15 minutes without 3 fags before I leave the house at 7.40am. :o

Now mumzy - we want a post like this out of you very soon missus.... I'm actually excited FOR you all who have your 72-hour feeling to come... I wish it hadn't taken me 22 years to pluck up the courage to go 3 days without nicotine. It feels like I've been let out of prison!!! :j

this is the end of my Day 1 too - so how about we do this together?

I am determined, you are determined - I'm sick of the money I am spending on fags, I am sick of not being able to smoke anywhere, I am sick of the house and car and me smelling foul - I AM SICK OF SMOKING and am going to STOP

I know you can do it and so can I - first failure has to run around MSE site naked

Good Luck to everyone, I am determined this time - it's ruining my health and it's ruining my bank balance - I am bigger than this and can do it - now going to bed as I have run out of walls to climb!!

Thxs JoeHel for pointing out this site, certainly helped me tonight - as you said some of the real life stories really make you think - must be bloody mad to have ever smoked

Thxs again, given me some more determination

I AM going to do this

You know that time when you are at your calmest and (you think) you happiest - i.e. when you are actually smoking (so the urge is at its least)? Well, it's about 100% calmer than that ;)

JoeHel that's the nail on the head for me. I remember that feeling, calm and relaxed, and want it back. This constant jittery, tense feeling, waiting for the next puff is horrible.

I was up at 5 this morning and won't deny I've had two and it's only 7.15. That's it though, no looking back. I'm going to be a007 quitter !

Morning everyone, can't stop, I've a horrdenous (sp?) hangover from last night and still sat here in my PJ's and I'm meant to be leaving for work in 15 minutes

Good luck to everyone today, Deaks, Mum, Mumzy et al, we are all right behind you. Hope everyone else has a good day too.

I'll be back later this evening.

Sounds like a good idea to me!:D How is it going today?

Today seems to be going very slowly, I just think that I have forgotten to do something all the time! I am going to sort my internet banking out this afternoon so I can start paying £4.55 off a day on my credit card.
I hope everyone is having a good day.

    Hi everyone,

thxs for the lovely messages, still going OK, although finding today tough ... probably worse than yesterday if I am honest - not sure why, but still determined - keep looking at that picture of that guy on WhyQuit and thinking that could be my OH and my son looking at me in that state!!

Hi Mum - how is Day 2 for you - remember 1st one to quit quitting has to run around the site naked - that should keep you going eh?? LOL

Going to make the dinner now - my £7 saved today went on steak - and I might be able to taste it better than usual - we'll see

    C u later

well i was doin really well until my oh had gone out and i had knock ta door went to answer it and was some slaes guy. He looked and sounded dodgy..he said he was wondering if i was eligable for a grant towards my heating..i said no no he said you already have it so i said yeh yeh and as i said that i closed door and locked it straight away as i had just finished locking it he pulled handle down but id already locked it..i ran upstairs and as i was half way up i heard him kick my front door..i was calm at the door but now i was so scared..i rang police not 999 just incase they came back at night or whatever..police said they would get officers to check the area and wil call at my house if need be. I not heard anything, I went shop an hour later and kept checking behind me..and saw a police car go past slowly..and then as i got in shop there was a commnity officer in there and as i went out of shop there was a police car on carpark so they must of been looking out for them. As there was 2 of them but only one came to my door and other went next door. Anyways so i started smoking again after that..i woke so calm and was doing so well.
