Heh. Make the most of it mate - when you hit your 20's you're expected to be all sensible until the day you can legitimately claim to be senile and get stroppy all over again... heh heh ;)

I'm not a mum but I'm experiencing the teen thing with my partner's son at the moment. I'm way too soft with him and love having him live with us but my GOD can he be moody!!!!

    15.

Look back a few days and pages, and see the argument with TNG... thats why.

    Don't worry.

    Wahey Blackpool :D lol

okay Adz. I've had a look back and I've seen what you're talking about. D'you know what else I saw first though? I saw quite a few posts from you just being completely honest about how you felt and what you could and couldn't manage, and some lovely supportive words for other people. Some of us on here are older and we unfortunately forget how open and genuine (I want to say "naive" but I mean it in the best possible way - as in young and unspoiled - NOT STUPID!) people of your age are. I'm not being patronising Adz. Like I said, I suddenly now live with a teenager and I see first hand the pressures young people have thrust on them. I honestly don't know how I would have coped. I was such a shy teen!!!

Anyway... seen what you were talking about. I think if you re-read it yourself now you might see that a few things were kinda taken in the wrong way..?? It's not actually bad at all. Nobody was having a go at you hun, until you got a bit defensive and they couldn't really understand where you were coming from with that? If you decide that this thread isn't for you that's totally up to you but I found your posts refreshing and honest and I'd like to see you round here now and again - not only because I think if you can quit soon it will be the best thing you've ever done for yourself!

    Anyway, your choice mate. Hel.

EDIT: Found and re-read, I still don't feel any differently

Deaks & mum - the cranberry juice is acidic and helps flush the nicotine through your system faster. I read that on the WhyQuit site somewhere (maybe in the "first 72 hours" bit?) It also helps keep your blood sugar levels more stable. A lot of the concentration lapses and jittery moments that you blame on your withdrawal are actually blood sugar dips. Your body has got used to being regulated by nicotine and the chemicals in ciggies. It takes a few days to crank up the generator again and for your body to start doing what it's SUPPOSED to do and function properly without chemical stimulation for everything!

You're over two thirds of the way there!!! :j

But NEVER forget ... even if you think you can have "just one" and it won't hurt - if you have EVEN ONE PUFF you will be back at the start of your 72 hours withdrawal. So if you want to be one of those "I only smoke on a Saturday night" and go through those 72 hours EVERY SINGLE WEEK then go for it.

I know I'm happier than I've ever been and I am NEVER doing the 72 hours again!!!! Not because it's impossible to do - I just know that there is no situation on earth - however terrible or tragic - that would be improved by having a cigarette!!

No worries then. It's obviously something that people will see differently depending on age then! Anyhow - that doesn't matter. I didn't see any updates on whether you'd stayed quit so I'm mega happy to hear that you have. That's brilliant.

Maybe catch you on another thread sometime. I wish I'd discovered a site like this at your age. I'd NEVER have been in debt by 40!! heh heh

  • Are you really sure you can leave us Adz - we are almost as addictive as the fags!! You know you'll miss us and we'll certainly miss you - even though your moods can drive us mad (lol) - we all love you (virtual love) and really want you to stay in touch. But if you really feel the need to go then leave with our blessing (sniff), I'll miss you (sniff), take care! Love and hugs
