Mumzy, if you can quit at your age you will be doing the best thing you have ever done in your life.
I know that scare tactics don't work and we all know the health risks, but I have to say that some of the stories of real life experiences on that site really did bring it home. There are some very young people on there, which stop people thinking "oh, I'll stop when I start feeling ill or it starts affecting my health"....
All I can say is READ, READ, READ if you get a pang, and otherwise drink fruit juice and don't be hard on yourself if you do feel a bit jittery at times. 3 days it honestly not that long and then you'll be FREEEEEE!
Best of luck hun. x
PS I will try to log on at work tomorrow and check how you are doing if you need to let off steam!! Feel free to PM me if you want but if I were you, the best place to spend the day is reading WhyQuit.com for FANTASTIC advice and help.QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0 -

I'll be looking out!
Just one tip - THINK POSITIVE. Don't think "this will be so hard". Think "I CAN DO THIS!" Think that YOU are stronger than any stupid DRUG and you are not willing to have a drug rule your life any more!!! It's time to take control and show drugs who is boss!!
A ciggie is a roll of paper wrapped around some dried leaves. It has NO power over you unless you let it!QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0 -
Mumzy, good luck for today hunny. I shall be watching your progress from work but will not be able to post as that means logging on and don't wanna get caught on the internet too much as I've just started the job, especially chat forums! I'll try and log on this evening and see how you're doing as well before I GO TO THE QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE GIG :j :j :j :j OH I AM SO EXCITED!!!
How are we all this morning?

Hi everyone :hello:
JoeHel - thanks! You say everything that I am about to before I get chance to type it :T
New quitters (and those who have quit but are not yet confident) - we ALL just have to have beliefBelieve what these people are telling you (jo, JoeHel and heck, yes, me

Best of luck to all of todays new ex-smokers.

Morning all
Like Jo I can't really log on at work (quite new to this job and don't wanna get caught!) so I'm going to pop on each evening and catch up.
TNG, mumofcookers, Jo, Cheap, mumzy, JoeHel,Tobruk, how are you all doing? :hello: Tobruk I read your post about being really isolated and have been in a very similar position - I also used the fags as a crutch but all they did was make me worse really, I just couldn't see it. I know it's really hard to be stuck away from friends and family though - pm me if you want a chat about it later (I'll be back about 6pm)
I hope everyone's well - had a good fag-free weekend and didn't spend too much money either (a Christmas miracle!) so feeling very happy
Good luck today
Love,

AAArgh how did this happen?! I'm back on! I'M NOW ADDICTED TO THIS SITE INSTEAD OF FAGS!!
I really gotta do some work.....
Nice to see you TNG and thanks!

Morning everyone!
Thanks TNG.
Enjoy the gig Jo!
I have just popped in to see if there's any sign of mumzy and see how she is doing this morning. Whatever time you get to read this chick - I hope you are okay and drinking that juice now and again and taking lots of deep breaths!!
Please don't worry if all you can think about is ciggies. It's perfectly normal and I promise it does start to ease off. Don't forget I've only been quit 3 weeks myself and I'm starting to think about them less and less every day already. But if I DO think about them, I turn it into a positive thought and think "FAB - I don't need those horrible things anymore!!" I have been smoking since before you were BORN so if I can do it, you can too!!!!!QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0 -

I 'popped in' to this site to ask about Neil Casey's book (damn you, Google). That was 16 months and thousands of posts ago.....:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0
