    I really am petrified of the thought. Tomorrow i am goign to try again as i have only one cig left..my oh is going to let me lie in lol and wake me up at 10.30 and so il get up get dressed and go to down with my daughter who is 21months..so im not stuck at home at kitchen table thinking about this cig i want so bad. My oh is going to take my son to the park while im in town so that will kill a few hours i hope. what did u do to take away that horrible feeling in the morning?

    what does hot paste key combanation mean on the silkquit meter..ive just signed up and done all my info etc.

    Okay. One thing I did before I started my quit was read loads of the posts and artices on WhyQuit.com It's not all "oooh, it's really bad and it'll kill you" (like we don't already KNOW that Sherlock!) but it DOES make you realise that the only reason you smoke is because you have a drug addiction. It's just honest facts about addiction and I tell you what - the best thing EVER to help you quit is education about why you actually do it in the first place!

    ALL the things you have fixed in your head that you think ciggies do for you - wake you up, calm you down, relieve stress, taste good after a meal - they are all ILLUSIONS and are complete RUBBISH. The only reason you smoke is to get a hit of your drug nicotine.

    That "horrible feeling" you dread in the morning is something you need only feel for 3 more days. It's a slight jittery itch, which lasts for a maximum of 3 minutes at a time. It doesn't cause any phyiscal pain. If you close your eyes, take a really deep breath and exhale slowly, the pang will immediately be halved. If you don't believe me, just try it when you next fancy that one ciggie you have left. One thing that DEFINITELY helps over the first 3 days - with taking away pangs and helping you concentrate, is drinking fruit juice to keep your blood sugar levels stable.

    My only other suggestion is to read all about what changes are going on in your body over those 3 days. About how your brain and body will be cleared of over 4,000 chemicals and instead will be soothed with oxygenated healthy blood for the first time since you started smoking. And download a quit meter. It'll show you how much money you save, how many ciggies you haven't smoked and how much life you've "bought back". I don't know what your motivation is for giving up but I look at that life bought back figure and I see it as time I'll get with my neice and nephew's kids.... You can see it as extra time with your children....

    oooh, sorry - you posted that while I did my last reply! heh heh

    I think the hot paste key is so you can put your stats into another message. I can't get that to work, so I use the Ctrl+C method. So my stats currently are.... (24 minutes off 3 weeks!!!)

    I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 6 Days, 23 hours, 35 minutes and 51 seconds (20 days). I have saved £152.75 by not smoking 587 cigarettes. I have saved 2 Days and 55 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 04/11/2007 23:00

    ahhh ok thanks..i click on the where it says ctrl C and click send to toolbar and it just closes screen and shows it as a minamized screen...is this correct so sorry to be a pain

    I'm not sure -it depends what quit meter you've got.

    If you reply to this message, and underneath hold down the Crtl key and press "V", it should paste your stats into your message?

    ahh thats better i put 26th as guna quit at 12am tonight so put 26th but just realised it only goes up to 23.59 lol so changed it

    i have been smoking only 4 and half years..iam 20 and have 2 children under 4 this is going to be so hard . my oh said he will watch chidlren tomo as i wil keep coming on to update you i need support lol
