:hello:
Make sure that there aren't any lying around when you return to tempt you. Clean out all the ash trays before you go and hide them, along with the lighters/matches
When you come back it will seem more like a fresh start than a return to old ways
This is what I did when I quit beginning of August when I went back home but when I returned I went out to get some tobacco almost straight away! I find it difficult - as I live on my own, I only leave the house on average once a week, I don't see anyone for days and I am living 100 miles from home.0 -
Torbruk, take TNG's excellent advice, clear the house out, maybe have a good old clean too, including curtains, nets etc and when you come back the place will be smelling lovely and smoke-free, imagine how awful it would be to come back and ruin that and have the place smell of smoke again.
Good luck, you know we're all here for youDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

I did all that when I gave up in August jo - washed everything including curtains and I haven't smoked in those rooms since - I smoke out in the conservatory with the windows open - and the door sometimes, so it's not pleasant anyway as it has gone so cold!0 -
Babes, have you tried using the a lower step patch? I used the highest strength patch many years ago as I smoked 40 a day at the time but I hallucinated somthing chronic plus felt as though I was going to pass out all the time. My doc insisted that I tried the next step down and they worked a treat (well until I started again a few years later :undecided)
Good luck for today, keep us updated xDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Ok, wish me luck please. I stopped smoking over 8 months ago and then recently started to have the odd one which has now ended up at about 5 a day which is loads better than the 35 a day I used to smoke but still 5 a day too many. Tomorrow I am going away for a few days with my husband (who doesn't know I've started smoking again and he'd be terribly disappointed) so I am using this as a springboard to stop again. I won't have the opportunity to smoke for 3 days so I am hoping I will get the nicotine out of my system and take it from there. Well done everyone else who has stopped and keep up the good work. Good luck to all those thinking of/trying to stop.Member #7 SKI-ers Club

I know it may sound as a total cop out, but I think the reason I keep on smoking if I am totally honest and it is hard to admit is that I feel totally isolated and lonely - there I've said it!0

For once I can't think what to say, but ((((Tobruk)))):dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
TNG, don't feel sorry for me I know it sounds terrible but I do keep my spirits up somehow or other - I'm not depressed or anything like that
I left home to a good job which I loved at the BBC, fell ill and had to leave but by then I had bought a house where I didn't know anyone. My friends at work were the only friends I had here - lost contact as I couldn't go out etc.
