Excellent BE - well done
Don't give yourself too hard a time with the CWs though. If you want one have one. It is temporary and will pass, so there's no point going without and being miserable......:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
Hi everyone :hello:
Please can you all make room for a little one as I am going to get back on the wagon on Monday:D
I was here at the start of september and only did 3 weeks and then on and off for a few weeks. So I am armed again with Alan Carr's book and not much else!
I know that I should of been giving it another go sooner but something my children said yesterday made me decide to set a start date. We were having dinner and they were all giving themselves made up "Mr. Men" names. The boys were Mr. Grumpy-bum and Mr.Chatterbox, the girls were Little miss Moan-alot and Little miss cry-alot. (They are 8,5,3 and 5 months) Then they decided on a name for me........Little Miss Faggy-mouth:eek: . When I asked the dumb question of why ...because you ALLWAYS have a fag in your mouth. You gotta love kids!! Anyway I really really hate the fact that they see me as this.
Also I have left my quit-counter running and I have smoked nearly £200 worth in the last 7 weeks.
So I have plenty of reasons to quit and no reasons to stay smoking.
So here we go again and this time WILL be the last time.
Talk to you all on Monday!!!!
I hope everyone else is doing well and having a good day.Pay off all your debt by Xmas 2012Aim £8200Total so far £3700Left £45000 -

just noticed that your original post is an old version i.e. doesn't have links to Frugaljo's blog etc etc
You might want to edit it to put this stuff back in from here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=6840112&postcount=2761:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
Hi all,
First of all can i say well done to everyone who has given up and much luck to all those trying!
i would love to give up and have tried quite a few times and failed!!!
would love to give it another go, i'm desperate to stop for my kids, my health and the money!!
i think i smoke mainly out of boredom as i am at home most days with my kiddies and (bad mother that i am ) i am always popping out the conservatory door for a puff!.
any advice would be most appriciated.
have tried allan carr but it didn't work for me.
keep going to all of you, from someone who has tried many times, i know its soooo hard!!

Hiya Cheaps :hello: and welcome
You'll find loads of [STRIKE]people nagging[/STRIKE] helpful support on this thread. Have a look at some of the links in post 1 (when jo sorts it out) or the one I linked to a couple of posts back
Why did Allen Carr not work for you? Not a criticism, it doesn't for some. Just trying to understand.....:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
I spend far too much on fags and I think that's where the majority of my spending money goes! I'm going to try quitting as of payday when I can buy some patches. Wish me luck0

Thank you, TNG
If i am honest when i tried the allen carr book (i had been told it was great) i think i was maybe not ready to quit, i also found it hard to keep reading it enough for it to sink in what with 3 children under 5 to run around after and working, by the time i started reading it on a night time i was already half asleep.!!
got to do it though, really want to be a non smoker, it must be lovely not to worry about when you can have the next one, i hate the control it has over me.
thanks for your support TNG:D

I quit with the Allen Carr book almost 3 weeks ago, plus I read a lot on the WhyQuit.com site. I am SO HAPPY to be nicotine free, I am permanently smiling. That's why I used the book rather than patches or other NRT stuff. I couldn't bear to "miss" ciggies for the rest of my life!!!!
I do totally believe that things will work if you're in the right frame of mind. My advice would be to keep reading, plus check out lots of different articles on the WhyQuit.com site. I just kept on reading until it all suddenly CLICKED. I'm now the happiest ex-smoker EVER!! And don't keep putting it off until you feel less stressed. That time will NEVER COME! I am so much calmer since I got nicotine out of my bloodstream. I really can't describe how lovely it is to hardly ever feel anxious any more (except for the usual daily stresses that crop up and ciggies don't solve anyway!)
And in case anyone thinks I was a 1-a-day casual smoker, I smoked 30 a day for 22 years!! Sent a small fortune up in smoke. My stats as of now are...
I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 4 Days, 3 minutes and 41 seconds (18 days). I have saved £131.05 by not smoking 504 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day and 18 hours of my life. My Quit Date: 04/11/2007 23:00QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0
