Frugaljo, I can't set a date either, if I do I get twitchy just thinking about it, panick sets in and I smoke even more!! I will just decide on the day or work up to it night before and just go for it - I will have patches next to my bed and stick one on as soon as I wake!
I haven't listened to any CD's, watched DVD's or read books on it.

Right well I'm with you Tobruk !
The twitches are not welcome, and just make it worse.
Your earlier post is spot on about changing habits and routines, just like the jump leads I need.

How do some set a date way ahead of stopping, in fact all advice I have read tell you to set a date ahead for which to stop smoking and prepare yourself? I can't do that! I have now been buying patches ready for the day I will give it another go, but I am not able to say when that day is that I stop.
  • Hi all
well i'm at the end of day three, and so far so good..until tonight. I am really struggling. My jaw aches from chewing gum, and i feel sick from it. I've not slept properly for two nights and i dread going to bed because the dreams are awful, really vivid, strange stuff!!
I was told to count down from 100 each time i wanted a fag and by the time i got to 60 the craving will go away, so far its worked, but how many times in a day can i sit around counting.
I need to find a hobby....just read through some of your suggestions and tomorrow will tip out the loft and find my drawing pencils, jigsaws etc.
I would hate to go back to smoking now, i already feel really good, my breathing is already easier AND i've just worn the same clothes today as i wore yesterday!! normally everything goes straight into the lines basket cos it stinks.
I wish the nights were lighter then i could go for a walk.

Your locations the same as mine :)

First few days are definately the hardest. Keep with it and you'll reap in the benefits. WELL DONE SO FAR! :)

Just persevere to beat Mr O'Teen (Nicotine or whatever you call the beast... I use Nicky Nasty Smelly Teen... but I'm different)
  • Thanks for that Adzha, yes i've seen a few from Blackpool on area on here.
I actually wish i didn't live so close to the shops. If i can just get past 10 o'clock then the shop will be shut and I'll have made another night

Well betterlatethannever, good on you, and you have actually reminded me of those first few days when you do feel better and no smell of stale smoke. I do also remember those vivid weird dreams!

    And stopped again.

On the 20 best and worst places to live, Blackpool is 11th worst
Yet all worst seem to be up north, and best down south. Coincidence?
