Thanks, yes, both flights were with Finnair.0

This is about Bott and Co jurisdiction:
"Bott & Co DOES have jurisdiction to handle your flight compensation claim if you were:
On a flight leaving England or Wales
On a flight arriving in England or Wales
Flying on-board an English or Welsh airline"
Do you have any ideas who may handle my case?0 -

Bott & Co do have jurisdiction to handle your case as it originated in UK, provided that it was a single through booking, and not booked as two separate flights. Which is why I asked for your flight details, i.e flight numbers, dates, departure times and arrival times.
Call the flight delay team at Botts tomorrow to discus with them why their calculator refused your claim.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
I've got this sorted: 600 Euro compensation - this is what Bott's calculator told me.0

I was wondering if anyone could help. We were delayed for just over 3 hrs with jet2 September 2017 due to French air strikes. We have had a reply saying no compensation due to being delayed through air strikes, but the same time we were due to take off another flight, a monarch flight took off from the same airport to the same destination around the same time as our original flight.
Can we take escalate our claim with this information and do you think it is worth it?
TIA for any help.

Try putting your details into a claim checker, such as Botts to see if you have valid claim.
ATC strikes sometimes aren't blanket, some Flights get through others don't.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Hi Nikki,
Try entering your flight details into Bott & Co's online flight delay calculator to see if they believe you have a valid claim.

Help needed please.
I made a claim via Resolver for a recent delay. I've had a response from the airline today and I was just wondering if this is a valid reason or if they are just trying to avoid paying me and would welcome some advice please.
This is their response:
"was delayed by 3 hours and 44 minutes. This disruption was caused by extraordinary circumstances which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken*.
Although we respect your request for compensation, we're unable to honour your claim as your flight was delayed due to extraordinary circumstances. This is in accordance with the European Court of Justice Verdict C-549/07 Wallentin-Hermann.
Flight disruption information
Disruption type: Delayed
Delay time: 3 hours and 44 minutes
Reason for disruption: This delay was caused by an earlier disruption within our network that had a direct effect on this flight. The original flight was disrupted due to structural damage (2h, 25min) and crew shortage (1h 19min).
According to the ADR Directive, we are informing you that The Ombudsman Service LTD is an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Please be aware that Norwegian Air Shuttle has not currently signed up to the Alternative Dispute Resolution."
I'm not really sure what the structural damage refers to? Should I just give up or should I go back to them? Would welcome any advice, thanks.

Its a fob off.
Damage to an aircraft on a previous flight and crew shortage are NOT usually an EC.
Download Vauban's guide then continue.
If Norwegian aren't signed up to an ADR you will need to take the DIY route, via court if necessary, or hand to a NWNF firm such as Botts. Use Botts online check to see if you have a valid claim.
