My parents recently flew out from London to Lahore via Abu Dhabi and the flight to Abu Dhabi was fine and arrived on time, however the connecting flight to Lahore which was supposed to be 2 hours and 20 minutes later was delayed by 7 hours and 16 minutes. I have emailed Etihad (after contacting their Facebook page) and i have received a lenghty response in which Etihad Airways confirm the 7 hours and 16 minutes delay was due to operational reasons. For this delay they are willing to offer 15000 Etihad Guest Miles each to my parents. should i accept this or expect money as compensation?
Any advise is appreciated0 -
there will be mixed opinions on this as the delay was entirely outside the EU on a non EU airline so some (me included) may say that EU compensation rules do not apply....others may say that they do0
-
should i just accept the 15000 points each or push for cash?0

I love the dodgems...

I've just returned from Kuala Lumpur via Dubai. The flight was late arriving at KL from Melbourne and consequently arrived late at Dubai, hence missed our connection to Glasgow.
Am I correct in saying that I cannot claim under the EU Regs as my delay start point was outside the EU and it was a Non EU carrier.0 -
Hello friends, I have sent letter to jet airways on 10th February and they received it on 12th as I checked with Royal Mail. But I haven't had any response yet, I also sent email on Wednesday 5th march but had no acknowledgement reply whatsoever. Any advise what should I do now??
Thanks for all your help.
P.s. Our flight was delayed by 15 hours from London heathrow to mumbai so I think we should be eligible for compensation. I had £30 from my insurance company for delay now.0 -
You either wait for them to reply, or you start court action, or you hand over to a NWNF firm.0

Really? You can't see what to do next after you have had no response?
