  • Just had an email through from United Airlines, they are giving myself and my partner 300€ compensation each for our delayed Edinburgh-new York flight. They also offered us $1000 flight voucher instead.

What method did you use to contact them? Do you have that information as I have emailed twice now and have not had one single reply.

    Thanks

I'd be interested in contacting United too as my flight was delayed for 5 hours then cancelled until the next day - can anyone help please? I did try to claim in 2008 but became ill & gave up so no longer have my tickets.

Was this an outbound or return flight? If a return flight from the US there is no claim

It was from Heathrow to San Francisco, we sat on the plane for 5 hours before they told us that the flight was cancelled until the next day. They did put us up overnight & feed us & offer a $50 voucher to use with UA, I refused it. I put a claim in when I returned home & tried to claim for over a year, they offered $300 again to use on a UA flight, again I refused & then gave up due to ill health.

start with the FAQs on this thread and it will give you an idea what to do
    1) Make claim with airline
    2) if airline pays up, celebrate, if airline rejects then read the "what to do next" re court

I'm hoping I can get some help with a delayed US Airways flight on Saturday 16th April 2011. The route was Heathrow to Philadelphia to Orlando, arriving in Orlando at 20.55 local time. The flight from Heathrow was delayed for over 6 hours due to a problem with the plane. This meant we missed our connecting flight to Orlando and in fact arrived there on Monday 18th April in the afternoon.
At the time we had to pay for food, hotels and transfers having being offered hardly any help at Philadelphia Airport by US Airways employees. This money we claimed back from US Airways and asked for monetary compensation at the time, which was refused and we were offered flight vouchers instead. These we refused and never used. In the email agreeing to the repayment of the expenses they claim the delay was "an unexpected delay for safety reasons"

As we have already put a claim in and received expenses back, are we able to claim compensation for the 2 day delay in reaching Orlando?

    Many thanks.

Hope somebody can help with my query. Currently claiming against Delta regarding a 6 hour delay from Dublin - Atlanta on 29th June. So far all I have from them is 2 acknowledgment letters and a letter thay gave out in the Dublin terminal citing maintenance issues for the delay. A few other passengers I have been speaking to have a reply citing bad weather. My last letter to Delta gave all weather reports, arrival times etc.
My query is that as Delta don't have a UK address ( France) I have to use the link in the Template section here... https://e-justice.europa.eu/content_small_claims_forms-177-en.do In this link it says the limit is 2000 euros but we are a family of 5 and 600 euros each = 3000 euros. Do we have to claim individually and do I still lodge the papers in the small claims court here in Northern Ireland or do I have to lodge it in France via the EU portal?

    Hi,

I have emailed united twice and not once had a reply via email or mail
And it's been 6 weeks now.

Did you contact by email or ordinary mail and do you have the contact information?

    Thanks
