If anyone else is worried about the same problem I got mine from from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk.

Their N95 is on a vodaphone handset but they ship unbranded N95s without any features removed.

The deal is £35 per month, 12 month contract (£420 overall).
    - Brand new unbranded N95
    - 500 mins per month
    - 250 texts per month
    - Stop The Clock (talk for an hour, pay for 3 mins)
    - Passport (use inclusive minutes abroad for a 75p connection charge)
    - 1GB memory card included.

:A This is an cracking deal, i have signed up on this as well cos orange wouldnt let me have the phone for less than £200 (which is crap since i would still be paying £30 a month on a twelve month contract (200 mins and 500 texts)). plus i am getting the 1GB memory card shoved in there which orange probably wouldnt provide. Orange are crap for contracts now and i dont mind paying an extra fiver to get the phone i want, i am losing texts but the extra mins will make me call a little more often instead.

I wonder if there is a great wap deal i can add on... YEEEHAAA!!! :A

Is there any way to get a noise when you slide the case up on the N95 much like the samsung phones.

    Thanks

Hi, I've just upgraded my orange contract :

    Free Nokia N95
    500 Xnet minutes
    150 texts
    15 pounds
    12 months contract.

Have to say I have been spending min 50-60 per month in the last year. But it's still a cracking deal. I spoke to someone from customer services first and he couldnt offer any decent deal with the free phone. I quoted the 3 offer of 15 pounds for 500xnet minutes and asked him to beat that. I was then put on hold for 10 mins and someone from retentions came up with this offer and i've accepted. Hope the phone lives up to my expectations.

    Hi all,

I'm in the same boat as well. Trying to get this phone for the 5mpixel camera, if I may add so I don't get attacked for being ignorant about the phone's magnificent features.

I was just on the phone to Voda, who I've been w/ for 9 years and they best they could offer was £50 for the phone. As I haven't paid a single penny for any of my phones ever, I told him that mobiledirectwhatever.com had it for free. He said "sorry about that". He said that I should write to their disconnections department blah. So now, I'm thinking do I really want to change my number? NO!

I'd be very interested to see if they call me in the next couple of days as that's how it works usually. I threaten to go, ask for PAC or whatever and then they call me to offer me whatever I want. Well, I might not be getting the phone for free... what to do???

I was really intriged about the change the number to a PAYG and then over to the contract that was mentioned??? Can you please elaborate? I might be very interested in knowing how to do that!

I'm also concerned about all the negative comments for the phone... I have a Sony Eriksson W900i, which I had to blackmail out of Voda. I was sent a refurb phone that didn't work. Send it back. Got another one that was throwing tantrums. Had its software upgraded but it still does blackout with no reason. *sigh*... technology I guess.

Anyway, thanks for all the help!

    WELL-WELL-WELL!!!

Voda called just now and offered the phone for FREE on a 12mth contract, 500 mins - 100 txt. They don't give the memory card but I'm not bothered. I'll get one off ebay for a tenner. The tariff is higher than the one I'm now by £10/mth and also doesn't include Stop The Clock. The thing to remember about Voda is Online Account Managing! Once I get my lovely phone tomorrow, I'll wait for a month and then I'll be able to change my tariff to whatever I want (revert to my current one) and add Stop The Clock. Genius! *evil laugh* Let them think they sold me an overpriced deal! HA! I'm off to sell my Sony now on ebay!

Got the phone but sent it back unused after the weekend, the dam morons (mobilephonesdirect) wouldnt port my existing number to vodafone so i am out of pocket by £6 plus a few days line rental charge as well... but i suppose thats my fault really for not really knowing it. Getting it directly off vodafone instead.

I'd like to know what's the current thinking on the best deals available - I'm out of contract with orange - but even retentions want to charge me for the phone so if I go with them I'd have to lose my number. I have my pac code and I'm not really keen on having an orange branded phone either. I don't need texts and anything over 400 mins would be fine?
    Any suggestions?

I rang Voda, O2, t-Mobile and Orange a couple of days ago looking for a good deal on the N95. Best deal I could get was similiar to one mentioned in this thread with Vodafone, N95 for £40 and an month contract @ £27 per month (with 6 months 1/2 price) for 300 mins/100 texts. I could increase the 1/2 price period to 10 months if I bought another Voda SIM for £10.

If my maths is right that works out @ £22/23 a month for the 18 months which is pretty decent.

Edit: The other offer was here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=5409139&highlight=nokia+n95#post5409139

I'm looking for a deal with internet included however so I didn't go with it.

Rang Vodafone again today and got a slight variation of the quoted offer. If I bought the £10 SIM then I'd get the N95 free, but no extra 1/2 price months, so slightly more expensive overall.

Also rang T-Mobile who wouldn't do anything for me when I asked about the Flex 20 and the Web n Walk 20.
  • Just got off the phone to O2 and they are offering naff all.
