Just to update everyone. I got one off ebay for £265 including postage unlocked to all networks from a guy with 400 feedback0
-
If anyone else is worried about the same problem I got mine from from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk.
Their N95 is on a vodaphone handset but they ship unbranded N95s without any features removed.
The deal is £35 per month, £12 month contract (£420 overall).
- Brand new unbranded N95
- 500 mins per month
- 250 texts per month
- Stop The Clock (talk for an hour, pay for 3 mins)
- Passport (use inclusive minutes abroad for a 75p connection charge)
- 1GB memory card included. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
Help me.. dunno what to do.
Currently with Vodafone on Anytime 125+1000 texts for £25/month.
With Vodafone getting rid of the inclusive data and charging £1/day for up to 25meg, I decided to look elsewhere....
Last month, I got a Nokia N95 on T-Mob web n walk for £37.50 and £50 for the phone. Phone was brilliant, but I kept getting cut off the internet every few seconds, which was annoying when downloading sat-nav maps live. I very much doubt it was a signal issue, this was all on the M25 and M4. So, I returned it within 14 days.
Still not sure if it was a dodgy phone or network, and didn't want to be tied in for 18months either way....
I'd soley use phone for data and text messages only.
Rang vodafone today, and apparently they are doing £7.50/mo for "unlimited" 120meg/month data. Not a massive amount, but still...
They said I could have the N95 on Anytime 125+1000 texts for the same £25/mo, and add the £7.50 on, total £32.50. The phone would be £150
Or I could go back to T-Mob, and hope it was a dodgy phone, get it on 12 months for £42.50 (the £5/month off has finished now) for 1gig/month, and 1200 texts. Phone is £190
Anyone got any advice?0 -
I have a N95 which I use with my T-Mobile SIM and Web & Walk Pro. Not had any problems to date with T'Internet cutting out. Downloads fine using HSDPA.
It could be because you are travelling and the next base station it is trying to pass you on to is full and hence the connection gets dropped. Do you have the same problem when at home or work?Cheers

I don't know if I'd still have the same problem as I've returned it.
Signal otherwise seemed to be fine. I could understand it dropping out occasionally due to capacity, but consistently every 2/3mins in an area of high signal (M25/M4)??
Having the sat-nav keeping popping up "Network connection lost" every 2/3mins whilst driving is definitely dangerous...
I'm just not keen on signing up only to be stuck with a dud phone or bad signal.
There is also no 3G signal at my house, which is an issue as well... Not a major one though,as I can use wifi at home...
I'm waiting for one of the free T-Mob PAYG sims, so I can have a go with my 6680 and see if it cuts out then as well....
Still leaning towards Vodafone though, especially now that they've stopped doing £5 off.0 -
T-mobile does not remove the VOIP facility on the N95 but Vodafone does.
I personally have the N95 on tMob and very happy with it (although reception at my flat is not very good!)0 -
Not worried about VoIP. As long as I can access web, email, sat nav etc....
Currently leaning towards Vodafone as its £10/mo cheaper.... But considerably less data.... Oh I dunno....0 -

OK how about this then. Buy a Nokia N95 off ebay for £300 - or less if you can find it. If you're clever you can pick it up for £250.
Then get the THREE X-Series which gives 1GB limit for £5/month.
Total Cost = £360.0 -
£300?!?! I thought it was going to be like £500....
And I didn't think you could unlock the N95 yet....0 -

I know I'm well P'd OFF! My limit for N95 (and N80) was £300 and I had to wait about 2/3 months before I could afford N80 last year! Now I got N95 within ONE week of it being released!
Value of N95 is dropping FAST!
By one which is unlocked simple.!0
