Hello.
I'm looking to upgrade my phone to a n95.
I've checked out orange's site (i'm currently with orange) and they do the dolphin deal with unlimited texts, about 600 minutes, magic number and £100 free credit with the phone costing £89.99 at £35/month.
I'll probably get this but I was wondering if anyone knows any alternatives I can mention on the phone to get the price down or any general tips to squeeze the best deal out of orange?
Thanks.

I'm looking at the N95 aswell, like you i'm on orange.
I took out my contract online, i get 1000 text 500 minutes pm for £20 pm, if you took out you contact online phone orange direct and you'll get a better offer. If you are happy with the deal you are on ask about getting your line rental reduced, they yusually offer a 10% reduction.0 -
Be aware that Vodaphone and Orange have removed VOIP from their N95 phones, so if this was one of the attractions for you, you might have to look elsewhere...

Yeah, I heard about that - it's a shame but not a huge suprise. Do you think it could be reenabled by software people? I guess it might get me a small discount.
Just to clarify, can this phone connect to my wifi and other hot spots and browse for free?0 -
I would be very wary of anyway cripling such a complex phone. Remember there is no unlocking for 3G phones through codes etc, and it does make me wonder what else has been blocked....
Enough for me not to consider buying one through Orange and Vodafone....0 -
I’ve only heard of voip being blocked - let's not get too conspiratorial unless you've heard other things.
I’m already a member of orange and I’m upgrading so I’ll be buying from them. To be honest I’m not too bothered about voip as long as the rest of the phone works.0 -
voip still works, its just the calls from the main screen that dont. if you put a softphone on it, it should work fineNice to Save. To save it's ____0

Excellent, thank you!0

Hi
I’m currently with O2….have been for about 4 or 5 years now. I’ve always managed to get a decent upgrade every time I’ve been due one, and I think the most I’ve had to pay for a handset has been £40.
I’m currently on an online tariff….500 off peak mins/500 texts/50 anytime mins for £20 a month….which is ideal for me.
I’m after the Nokia N95 now, and the cheapest deal they can do me, is £35 a month and paying £90 for the phone.
I rang them yesterday and they couldn’t offer me anything as the phone was out of stock so I’ve requested my PAC code.
I’ve found a deal through fones4free.com which in on Orange Dolphin 35 tariff. £35 a month, 500 free anytime mins / unlimited texts / magic number 18month contract, AND best of all the N95 is absolutely free !!!
Sounds too good to be true, so I rang them and was told that its exactly as it reads….no hidden catches like cashback vouchers or discounted line rental for a set period or that.
Was just after a bit of advice as to whether people thought this was a good deal….it appears it is to me. Its more than I’m paying now a month, and probably a bit more than I would like to pay a month….but I’ve just had my landline taken out as I was hardly using it so I need to switch to something that has free anytime minutes anyways rather than just off peak which I have at the mo.
Please let me know what you think about this deal / company.
Are there any risks I should be aware of taking a deal from somewhere other than the network provider directly ??
So hacked off with O2…they don’t seem bothered about keeping their customers.......O2….see what you can do……..get yer PAC code and go elsewhere. !!
Thanks in advance.0 -

VOIP= Voice over IP which is basically voice communications transmitted over the internet."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"
