Hi everyone, here is my story so far. On the 21st May 2007 my claim was issued and was deemed served on the 26th May 2007. Giving Barclays bank until the 9th June to reply.Barclays Bank filed an Acknowledgment of Service on the 6th June 2007. The notice i received states. The Defendant (Barclays) now has 28 days from the date of service of the claim to file a defence. My question is when did the date of service commence? Was it 26th May or 6th June?any help would be appreciated. I haven't heard anything else from the courts other than these two letters. any advice would be appreciated0

I too have received from the local court a Notice Acknowledgment of Service - Do i wait out the 28 days from 3rd july and file for judgement or start getting ready a court bundle. '.....Service on 3 July.0

So this would take it to 23rd of June, is this correct? which was nearly 2 weeks ago! Iv'e been on moneyclaim to file for judgement but it is stating that my case cannot be taken any further online and the "status" is show defence. What does this mean? I've had no confirmation fromthe courts on any defence being entered.
any ideas??0 -
It means the bank has entered a defence and you can't enter judgement by default anymore. You should have receveid a letter from court telling you so but they are a bit swamped these days. You may or may not get an Allocation Questionnaire next (they are often dispensed with these days) and should start getting your court bundle together. Of course, your bank might cave in before a court date is even set.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Hi everyone
i am in the process of claiming back my bank charges from Nationwide, they received acknowledgement of service on the 07/06/2007 and filed a defence, which gave them till 05/07/2007 i have heard nothing from the court or their solicitors what do i do now, somebody mentioned a judgement by default but i am not sure what to do, any body give me some advice please0 -
Hi Beate
My claim was requested 25th May,Issued 26th May,Deemed Served 1st July,Acknowledge 3rd July.
I received Notice Of Acknowledgment Of Service Has Been Filed today (which it states 3rd July) and that the Defendent now has 28 days from the Date Of Service of the claim to file a Defence.
But I thought that it was from the date in which it was Deemed Served (1st July) or is it because the date it was to be Deemed Served feel on a Sunday?
So it was Deemed Served on Tues 3rd July because of the weekend & they Acknowledge it straight away?
What do you think?
If this is the case they have until the 31st July to put in a defence?
Thank you.0 -
I have just looked online and it says that the claim was sent 5/7 reading some other threads it appears that it does not get sent that day, do they send you a letter when it has been issued, or do i just keep an eye on the courts website also it said 14 days - is that 14 working days or 14 days including w/end.I hope it all goes OK as i am claiming back £4,700 plus my £120 court costs + interest.0
