have received notice of issue from the court, it says claim was issued 25/04/2007 and sent by post on this date. but the letter states it will be deemed to be served on 30/04/2007. the bank (natwest) have until 14/05/2007 to reply. why does it take so long from the date it is posted till it is served? what happens next if i don't get a reply by date? (natwest) have ignored every single letter i have sent to them and i did recorded delivery!!! so know they got them.
currently trying to claim for £2439.33 from natwest

From experience with MCOL the date it states being sent and the date it really gets sent are two different things. Because MCOL is a bulk centre three extra days have been built in to their dates of service.
If you issue through your local court it would be deemed served two days after the date of issue.
MCOL is good for a lot of things, speed of service isn't one of them.0 -

Look at the website tomorrow it should say issued. Then wait five days. Your bank will have 14 days (i think) after this. I also just filed my claim today. Good Lick.0

Following submmitting a Moneyclaim I have received a letter from the courts stating that:
An acknowledgment of Service of your claim has been filed today. The defendant (Barclays) now has 28 days from the date of service of the claim form to file a defence.
I understand I have to fill in an allocation questionaire however I havent received one.
Im therefore a bit confused as to what to do next. Also the date on the acknowledgement of service from Barclays was 23rd April so Im a bit concerned that I have left it too late to respond?
PLEASE HELP!!0 -
hiya,
Your bank has only acknowledged the claim, they now have 28 days from the date of service to file a defence, you don't need to fill out an allocation questionnaire for an acknowledgement.
Sit tight and wait to see if your bank files a defence
Hope this helps0 -

You won't have to fill out an AQ until you hear from the court in the later stages after the bank have filed a defence (if they do). Even then, it's unlikely you'll be sent one by Northampton as they seem to have dispensed with them. You may however be requested to complete one by your local court, but it depends on how the judge wants to play it.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0
