JUST happened to me - they wait till the last few hours of the last day to file the acknowledgement. Assuming it was the 14th day when they did this, then they have another 14 days. It's a hassle. And unfortauntely, on the 28th day for me (which was yesterday) - they filed a defence. So now it's going to court and I'm looking for a thread on here about support/advice on the court procedure...!

I am on the 14th day after leaving 5 days after my claim was issued. I am ok to start the judgment? I don't have to give them a full 14 days or something? Sorry for being a pest. Thanks

How did you get on? I used your example to work out that I am one day behind you so according to my dates their 14th day is up tomorrow and still nothing from the bank yet. Fingers crossed but not optimistic...

Hi, I Had The Same Thing Today Notice That"acknowledgement Of Service" Has Been Filed, Sent Through The Post To Me. It Was Issued One Day Short Of The Deadline Given, So Now I Think I Have To Wait Till 6th June Untill Natwest Either Pay Up Or Defend And Take Me To Court In Person! Am Going To Stick With It As With Charges, interest And Court Fees, I Am Owed Nearly £2600.
Keep With It!!! They Only Do This To Stall For Time And To Keep Their Money A Little Longer

Have a read of Beate's post in the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.
  • Hello

This is my first post and i need a bit of advice - PLEASE.

I have written all the letters to HSBC following Martins advice, we never got any reply from them at all.
We are now taking them to court, papers have been acknowledged by HSBC but they have not put in any defence. Now are the 28 days up from the date we sent the papers or the date they acknowledged them? If it is from the date they were sent then their time is up tomorrow, which if i am not mistaken we have won by default.

    Is this right? Advice needed.

    Thanks
    Viki
