Yes you can. If you no longer have the account number and branch sort code please send the bank or credit card company your name with any changes that may have happened, any relevant addresses and your date of birth and this should help them trace your account.
As always read Martin's article and then read it again before you start your claim and you'll find the addresses you need along with lots of other very useful information in the Reclaim Help Thread.

As above for initial letter but if the bank/cc company can't find your details then write again giving them 14 days to produce the information/statements or you will report them to the Information Commissioner.0 -
I used to have a Nationwide Credit Card a couples of years back, on the first ltter you are meant to send them it has a gap for the account number. As it's a couple of years back i don't know the account number. Should i state this instead of putting the number, or do i need to know the account number?0

How did you pay for the CC.? If you paid from your bank a/c, very often it will have the a/c no. on your statements.
Or go into a Nationwide branch, they may be able to trace it
Otherwise give as much detail as possible full name, DOB, previous address if moved since ( + utility bill from current), dates of opening and closing a/c if known etc0 -
Good thinking Batman, i'll have a look through the statements later on0

Hi I am trying to help someone reclaim their credit card charges. They paid the balances off three credit cards last year effectively closing their debt, but stupidly threw all their account details away. They have sent the standard letter for reclaiming the charges together with cheques, but on all three they are being fobbed off because they don't have their account numbers. Does anyone know how they go about finding out these account nos for those credit cards? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!0

I have been reading site for about 12 months but this is my first post......

Last year I successfully reclaimed a little over £1000 pounds in bank charges and now I'd like to have a crack at the credit card charges.

I no longer have the card, as the account was closed by Barclaycard about 2 years ago, as I got into a financial pickle to say the least, I am now getting myself straight again thanks to the advice I read on this site.

I still owe around £350 but the debt was passed on/sold on to a debt collector, I now make monthly (interest free) payments to clear the outstanding.
Can I still claim my charges back from Barclaycard?
