Again, in relation to our telephone contact number, if people do not wish to contact us by telephone they can use the email service which is of course free of charge.
Why not just provide a geographic landline telephone number alongside your 0870/1 number so people have the choice?
As Lotus-eater said, many people nowadays don't have to pay for national calls so given the choice would never use either 0845 or 0870 numbers.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
As a consumer myself I agree Chameleon I personally do not pay for national calls either so it would certainly be an advantage to me if any company reverted back to using 01 or 02 numbers.
However, I am afraid this is a company decision, right or wrong. As an internet company we offer the choice of phone or email as mentioned earlier, some companies only have email contact. The good news on the phone front though that if someone chooses to use the service with average wait times under a couple of minutes and average call time of 3 mins this does in fact limit the cost.
It may be something though that Kybotech will look at in the future.0 -
Nice to get a reasonable reply.
Don't forget Chameleon, that they run 10 different websites, probably run from the same office, different 0870 numbers for the help line will look better than just the one number, same as the different 0800 numbers for the order line.
Most people who order off one of their sites will have no idea than they are run by a bigger group.
I'm betting if you ring them, one office callcentre will handle calls for all the websites, then screen pop with the correct site when the system recognizes the number called. It can be done of course with normal numbers as well.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Yes, that was what annoyed me most having got caught out like that as the only reference to Kybotech on these sites is in very small print at the very bottom of the page. Not very apparent and easy to miss unless you are specifically looking for it.Lotus-eater wrote: »I'm betting if you ring them, one office callcentre will handle calls for all the websites, then screen pop with the correct site when the system recognizes the number called. Well I'd hate to cast any aspersions without knowing the facts, but almost all the people I spoke to in their call-centre had a certain accent and used the company name of Kybotech rather than the actual one I'd ordered from. This is what alerted me to the fact they did actually own gardenbuildingsdirect“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

I can confirm that Kybotech does have a family of 10 retailer sites. Some of the web sites do have the full family listed in the top banner of the web pages and others have the Kybotech name at the bottom of the page. On each site the terms and conditions published all state the contact details for Kybotech Limited including the full postal address. We only use one sales number, one contact centre number and one product support email address for all for our web sites. The customer service centre for all of these sites is located in the head office for Kybotech.
I trust this clarifies it a little.0 -
A cheap and cheerful greenhouse can be found at mrgreenhouse (www.mrgreenhouse.co.uk). Mr Greenhouse offers a quality 8'x6' polycarboante greenhouse to suit the needs of any keen gardener for £265. Dismantling second-hand greenhouses sounds ominous unless you like spiders, rats and wasps nests
If you bought a greenhouse off eBay, you might end up with one from Nigeria :mad:0 -
Wilkinsons were doing plastic greenhouses last year for £30.00.
It wont be long before they start again.

Spiders yes, never had the others. Number each part as it comes into a joint with the same number for that joint, then photograph the joint - makes it easier to put back together. Number the glass panels. Do a plan of joints and glazing. Buy spare bolts from Wilcos as they will tend to shear if they are old, and get some more glazing clips just in case. Getting the base off may be awkward depending on how it's been fixed down, and to what. And for obvious reasons, don't do it on a bright hot day.0 -
I brought a Norfolk Greenhouse, first bad storm all the panels broke loose, it was a night mare to assemble, and instructions were terrible, you think an MFI flat pack was bad, try one of these Rigid UPVC things from Norfolk!
No, say your pennies and buy a proper Potting Shed, much better. (Half Glass, Half wood) Does not get as much fungal problems, is warmer in winter, and easier to maintain. My Mind wanders, if found please return.0
