I have a horrible feeling that the OP is going to get sucked in to someone else's drama, just by being kind and decent in contacting her after that begging text. I wouldn't have responded to her damned cheek

My DH is Armed Forces and is currently deployed overseas so he doesn't know anything about it yet.

I am not so sure....pregnant women and new mothers with their babies are everywhere, there's no getting away from them. If someone is experiencing such extreme distress that they cannot bear to be around them then I would suggest help to deal with their feelings is needed, if only for their own wellbeing.

Koala, has your 'friend' ( and I use the term loosely) got back to you yet? If not, why not? If she wanted your cash more than you, surely she would have been in contact by now. I can't help but feel you are going to end up being hurt by her all over again.

Also, what would your OH think about this if he were about? Mine would be furious that she was back on the scene just for her own gains, never mind the hurt that she has caused you.

Yep, they are. And there's no one who notices that more than a woman who can't have her own babies.

Unless you've been in that situation, it's difficult to appreciate how difficult it is. But what women who do find themselves feeling like that need is a bit of understanding, rather than people thinking they need professional help for their mental illness.

You can tell her that you and your OH never lend money to others unless you've discussed first and whilst he's overseas you have no intention of having that conversation in the brief time you have on the phone

I got another text at lunch time telling me she will call when she finishes work tonight, which if she is still doing the same job as before will be around 21:00.

I am starting to get a bit nervous and stressed about this as ridiculous as that sounds.

I am pretty certain that my DH would be verging on incandescent with rage as a result of what happened in the past. Though I am not entirely sure as she maintained some contact with him which I never really understood? Nothing close but they both play an online game and are in the same team.
