  • Thanks HBS. I'm feeling much better though still a little sniffly. I did a short run yesterday and should probably admit to walking the last bit as it was all up hill. Today I'm walking into town from my OH's. He lives in the middle of nowhere and it's a mile to the bus stop and it seems silly to commit myself to leaving at a certain time to catch the bus. The 4 mile walk in the sun will do me good...so long as I don't bump into a tractor walking up the lane!

  • Hi folks, I hope you don't mind me joining in late! Thought it'd be handy to have somewhere to share my exercise ups and downs other than myfitnesspal.

I started my weight loss kick back in August and lost 17lb before Christmas... then put on 7lb over Christmas! (I'd always said I wouldn't restrict myself over periods like Christmas and other celebrations.) The 17lb I lost was with calorie counting alone and no exercise. I use myfitnesspal, but I tweak the settings and actually eat around 500 calories more per day than I did when I was heavier. I read an interesting thread on their forums (contact me if you're interested!) and decided that I'd been eating so few calories that my metabolism was actually ruined and whenever I did eat more it was going straight on as fat.

Anyway, I'm now doing 30DS (it's on Youtube as well, for anyone who doesn't want to buy the DVD) and am on Day 3 of Level 3. I seem to have hit a bit of a wall in that I don't seem to be losing inches (I'm not paying much attention to the scales at this point since I'm gaining muscle), but I know I must be doing something by killing myself for half an hour a day! :D

Off to do 30DS now and look pathetic when doing push-ups. :o

Welcome Taylorette :) lovely to have you join us and share your stories!

So many people don't realise they are lowering their metabolic rate by eating too little, though thankfully you can increase it again with exercise :) scare it out of starvation mode LOL!

I've been telling myself all day to get off my butt and go for a walk - it is gorgeous outside - think i am finally off to get my boots on and go....... :D

    I so understand where you're coming from:D

Day 10 of 30ds for me today, level 2. My knee is still painful and struggling with the aerobic impact exercises. I know I should rest it but if I do then I'll never get this far again with my exercising. Had sweat dripping off me - what a mess. How many days are you into the shred, Taylorette?

Love this challenge! We just got an exercise bike and so far I've managed to use it every day, but we've only had it two days, so here's hoping I manage to carry on with it... :)

Just back from a brisk 90 min walk in the sunshine with the dog - all along the river and around a nature reserve.
If my feet recover I might do a DVD later....promises, promises:rotfl:

  • I think it's sposed to be 10k steps a day (which is kinda crazy!) Another mile and you'd hit it! :p

Regardless - very well done :T
