Big Bottomed Girls (and Guys) getting a wiggle on - daily exercise challenge

Options
Ok, I have to admit to wanting to do more exercise cos i know it will do me good, help me loose weight maybe and even help with my depression/hormonal issues etc as well - I KNOW all this.......but do I exercise???? Hmmmmmm can i pass on that question plz :o:o

Soooooooooo, here is my attempt to get my butt off the sofa a bit more frequently ;) I would love to have some company to help motivate me, and to just be able to have a bit of light hearted exercise related banter - cos lets face it, its no fun on ur own :D

So who is up for adding a bit of fun exercise to their day? The only rule is not to get too serious about it ;)

If you want to take part in the challenge just pop in (daily if you can) and share how you got ur wiggle on :D

  • Hi Fairyclicks! Thought I'd pop over and join you! It's all well and good joining the gym until your gym buddy is ill and you don't want to go on your own! My exercise today has been the walk between school and the bus station which is about a mile each way. That added to chasing around after children who like to put toy cookies in the toilet and playdough in the water tray is enough for today!! Tomorrow will involve more walking, and if I clear a space big enough the wii fit will come out too!

  • Very quick workout adapted from an article on NerdFitness - could be done anywhere!

    2 push ups
    2 squats
    2 lunges on each leg
    2 burpees
    2 jumping jacks

I did 3 circuits in the disabled loo at coffee break as I can't get to the gym later *chuckles* will try and do a few more later!

  • I'm gonna join this thread too if that's ok!! :D

OH is big into his weights and does this 3 times a week, plus goes to the gym on a Friday! Puts me to shame and I end up feeling frumpy and lazy beside him!! :rotfl:

My main problem with exercise is motivation! :o I always feel great after I've finished, but it's getting started that I get stuck on :( I sit at a desk for 8 hours a day :(

I walk to and from work every day which is great, but I don't think on this as exercise coz I'm travelling if you get what I'm saying!!!!! :p It's about a mile and half each way. Plus always go out at lunch for walk/visit to SIL/window shopping which gets me fresh air.

I have several workout DVDs at home which rarely see the light of day, but managed on Monday to actually do one of them!! Woohoo!! :j (though I was in pain until yesterday have to admit - no pain: no gain!! ;))

Started Zumba last Thursday too and last night was my second class. 45mins and was rather intense but really good fun! :D

Would be good to help keep each other motivated!!

  • Walking and Zumba are good! I just love strength training, I'm an oddball!

A burpee - stand with feet together, drop to haunches, jump out to push-up position, do a push up, hop feet in, stand up with a jump on the end :)

I got a dog. Had a fabulous walk in the woods early this morning. He demands a walk whether I feel motivated or not :o
