Have been looking for the Couch to 5k thread (I was sure there used to be one?) and have come across this thread, I would love to join and will hopefully give me the motivation to get exercising again!
I am very over weight but have lost 4 stones, have become a bit lazy since Christmas!!:o. I go to Zumba once a week but that's it so far. We have a ski glider machine so will start using that again and I really want to do the couch to 5k challenge:eek::eek:
A fresh start tomorrow for me, watch this space"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -

Thanks for the welcome Fairyclicks - knowing I needed to report how I got my wiggle on this morning was the butt kick I needed - don't have a lot of time today (who does) so didn't want to leave until I come in from work in case the 'apathy' overwhelms me! (which isn't unusual) so I followed this which I found on Yahoo.
"If you don’t want to get wet or too sweaty with aerobic exercise, consider a short session taking in some key exercises that work on strengthening muscle and burning fat at the same time:
Lunges – Try three sets of 10 and increase as and when you’re able
Squats - These are a killer but try another three sets of 10 and build up
Step ups and bicep curls – use a step and light weights and as you step up onto the step, bend your arms at the elbow and bring the weights up to your chin. Repeat three sets of 15
Sit ups – tone your tummy muscles with three sets of 15, giving yourself the added benefit of strengthening your spine and reducing the chance of back ache"
Didn't take long, made me breathless and I'm sure...
well I think I'm sure ...
that my butt has definetely shrunk!!!(That's probably wishful thinking but hey ho job done for today! How is everyone else getting on?0 -
Ok so I got my butt into gear and downloaded a fitness app on my mobile last night. My friend was asking if anyone would do the kilt walk with her (26 miles) in September, so I said I would have a think about it and get back to her, got back to her within 2 mins and have agreed to do that eeeeep!! It means that I definitely need to get y fitness up and gives me a goal
Dropped dd off at school, got the buggy out the car and took ds for a walk, thought I had walked miles but it appears I only did 2.8 miles lol, oh well it's a start and I found it relatively easy so I'm obviously fitter than I thought

Mix it up with the one I put on the first page
Well I accidentally added 10kg to my deadlift on Saturday - whoops! The 5 and 10kg weights at the gym look the same when I don't have my lenses in...:o Cheerleading wasn't great yesterday - squad were lacking motivation - but it was fairly productive. Weights and ballroom tonight, but not at the same time!
Keep it up peeps

Well I've managed day 2 of 30 day shred last night. Threw DH and DS's out of the front room whilst I sweated. Hoping to do some pics today as having googled 30ds results, I have seen some fantastic before and after piccys. Mind you, I did have a dodgy moment when trying to get out of my sports bra, I was too sweaty, it got stuck... mind you, I am at least one size larger than the size it was bought for.
I feel better already and no sore musles today, surprisingly. Have been ogling the handweights in argos (0.5kg) but think I will stick to the MSE option of my soup cans.
Hope you are all doing well. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
