  • Thanks all :)

Managed zumba ok last night, but took it a bit easier, but also forewarned the instructor that I may need to sit out for a couple of songs. Basically so she wouldn't panic or worry about me!!

Def feel the better for it but still a slight ringing in my ear.

Will be going out for a 6 mile walk on Sunday with my friend to practise for the 9 mile walk which isn't far away!

Hope everyone has a great day and a fab weekend :D

I have been reading this thread for a little while now, just out of interest to see what others think it works for them. I have tried in the past a mixture of Wii Fit, exercise DVd, Curves gym classes, etc with no real results(apart from the Wii fit, but took about 3 months to see results). My weight has increased in the last 5 years, from around 60kg to 66.5 after Xmas(yes, over indulging). Nothing seemed to be working, although the wii fit took me to about 63.5 kg. I am not what you call fat, but I have a big bum and thighs and arms.
Anyway, I have read about the 30 days shred and decided to give it a go. and surprise surprise! It works!! i am at day 1 Level 3 and in 20 days I have lost a little bit over 2kg and noticed some loss off my thighs and arms! So just wanted to share my experience, I will keep doing it and hope that I can loose a couple more kg!

Well done, purcel, 30ds is supposed to be really good for toning.

I haven't done mine for over a week now but have found youtube and zumba workouts easier to work around the family. I do have a lot of weight to lose - 2 stone - so I know it's going to take time. My diet tends to control the weight side of things (oops, ate another Easter egg last night) and the exercising stops me being stiff and helps me to feel great!

Will reconnect with Gillian next week once the sprogs are back at school.

  • Hi everyone :) Hope you all had a fit and fab weekend!!

Saturday was a lazy day spent drinking lots of tea and coffee :o:rotfl:

Did our first 'practice' for the 9 mile walk yesterday. We went 6 miles and it took us 1 hr and 22 mins!! :j:j We were so proud of ourselves! We kept up a good pace the whole way. Felt sooooo good for doing it and was able to chill guilt-free the rest of the day!! :D

Walking to/from work as always :)

    DVD tonight possibly...??

  • Finally had my shoulder looked at and I've pulled my rotator cuff...no powerlifting for a few days :'(

Will keep exercising though - did weights on Saturday and cheerleading yesterday :) think it might be a nice long swim tonight.

  • Oh doesn't sound good :( Thankfully it's just a few days! Hope you're right as rain soon and back to your normal fit/energetic self! :D

OH fractured his shoulder and has a rotated scapula from his motocross accident a year and half ago! He still does his weights but there's still movements he struggles with. Nothing they can do for him so he just has to plough on...

Ha! When he originally had the accident they didn't realise it was a fracture. Figured it was just messed up. He went to physio and then the rotated scapula happens. Xrays later they see the shoulder was fractured plus the deltoid muscle was missing or something  Basically the whole shoulder is messed up big time. He was off work and was to stop the weights for a few months. Although OH is seriously stubborn and didn't really give them up much! :p

It doesn't look anywhere near as bad as it used to, but you would still know something is out of place. He's pretty much back up at the same weights he was doing before the accident so he's pleased. He does suffer (in silence) a lot though :(

Evening all I'm still here and still n the 30 ds must be on day 25 or 26 I think. Had an epic fail over Easter as we were on holiday from work too, didn't do any exercise at all but back to it this week again.:)

  • Not doing so well on the 'exercise' this week. Will be at Zumba tonight so will have to work extra extra hard then!!
