It's a different season, but the idea of sending a letter to the ex each day, in the run-up to Valentine's Day, reminded me irresistibly of this:

OP, all the grand gestures in the world will fail unless you are the love of her life.

She has told you that you're not.

Why then are you so insistent on becoming the bane of her life instead?
  • I'll be back on February 15th with the outcome, I'm going to send the first card tomorrow...

And like I've said before, Valentines Day is my last chance, once Valentines is over I'll know once and for all where I stand and that I made every effort to try make things right and in all probability I'll have to accept that I have to move on.

Smiled at all the notes preceding this one but laughed out loud when I got to the end.

    Dear Sir:

This is to acknowledge your latest gift of 12
fiddlers fiddling which you have seen fit to
inflict on our client, Miss Agnes McHolstein.
The destruction, of course, was total. All
correspondence should come to our attention.
If you should attempt to reach Miss McHolstein
at Happy Dale Sanitarium, the attendants have
instructions to shoot you on sight. With this
letter please find attached warrant for your
    arrest.

    Cordially,

    Badger, Bender and Cahole

    I have to ask...why tomorrow?

Isn't that rather a lot of cards? You risk losing the 'aw' aspect if you do too many.

(Still don't think you should do this but if you must, you should reconsider the amount at least.

One for each of the 6 years we've been together. The first will arrive Thursday, the second Friday, the third Saturday, the fourth Monday, the fifth Tuesday, the sixth Wednesday and I'll hand deliver this years on Thursday.

For the 3rd time I REALLY must STRONGLY SUGGEST AGAINST delivering the last one by hand. You might get a slap.

Not that you'll listen but I have to say it.

Well once this car crash has passed one thing to note.

In future the only thing you will ever do in a breakup is walk away with your head held high. It'll hurt, it'll go against your every natural urge, but in the long term you'd be grateful.

The win back never works. never. Firstly as they've already decided its over. Secondly as you tend to come across as needy and desperate, which are the two least attractive qualities to women. Thirdly as you tend to come across as a nutter that won't take the hint.

The win back only ever works if you are part of a Hollywood movie.
  • I'm not going to let my sense of pride get in the way of my feelings, if I get hurt/ humiliated then so be it - it will all be worth if it because either a) I can walk away and know I did everything I could (all be it too late) or b) I get another chance to make her happy.
