You don't think you are labouring this a tad now victory?

    I think he got it.

I don't think 'he got it' at all.

He's hell bent on doing what he thinks will get this girl back - despite lots of people advising him to the contrary.

At least you recognise superiority when you see it.

But do you recognise irony when you see (or read) it? :rotfl::)

The point I'm making is that at some point, you (general 'you')/we need to stop labouring the point.

It's up to him whether he takes the advice or not. Why continue to browbeat, it wont help, if anything repetition about how 'bad' he was will only eventually put his back up and advice no matter how well meant, is always hard to stomach at that point.

The guy hasn't killed anyone, he's young and foolish. He's not the only person whose realisation has come too late and is finding it hard to come to terms with.

If valentines day is a must, send her a letter/card on the day.

My ex done something like what you are planning, 1st message I thought sweet but not going to change my mind, told him so. 2nd message I didnt respond just threw it. 3,4 & flowers at work - my colleagues all thought it was sweet but I was furious. It felt like a war of control, I had made my feelings clear and he wasnt respecting them. From my point of view, if he loved me why wasnt he doing what I asked? I ended up changing my number, I cut out a huge amount of 'linked' friends so I wasnt in his life at all.

Prior to all this I was happy to stay friends, and although I doubt it, who knows I may have seen a different side to him and taken him back. The gestures just made me feel suffocated and I really grew to dislike him.

So if you go ahead with your plan, and she tells you after the first or second card thats enough now then listen to her - you opinion of the 'crossed line' and her opinion of it may be completely different.

If she loves you she will find her own way back to you.

I recognise victory having a dig and 'disguising' it with a smilie.

I think that is fairly normal broken hearted male behaviour though. Well not the so called grand gesture thing, but the coming up with an absurd idea that will win back the heart of his love all the while everyone is telling then for the sake of his own sanity just don't do it. The broken hearted male will always rationalise this in their own mind as 'you're advice doesn't apply to me', when sadly it really does and they look back on things six months later thinking 'what the chuffing hell was I thinking?'.

I think all broken hearted men should be locked in cells with no communication with the outside world for at least a month until the crazy mind fog has lifted and they are no longer a danger to their own sanity.

No you can stop that right now, you are assuming it was a dig hence reading what was not there, there was nothing written into it other than a lighthearted easy going chirpy quip, nothing else to it, allow me the correction:D:D
