When me and my ex split 18 months ago I got the 'we'll always be friends line' and we ended up not even talking for four months and I went through hell. Now though, we talk every single day, we're the best of friends. And yeah there's always that what if about us, but just still being in their life is amazing to me. So it can happen. Sometime between the 9th Feb and Valentines day that year, we had a phone conversation in which she admitted she was seeing somebody else. I recently heard through a mutual friend that she now lives with and has baby with this other man. We haven't spoken since the night of the phonecall.

I've just scan-read the thread and you had some pretty hard stick from posters (me included ).
I think you were pretty determined in your 'quest' and most of us could see what a car-crash it was likely to turn into.

A pity you couldn't remain friends - not sure if you mean she was seeing someone else whilst still with you.

Best wishes for your own future, I hope you find somebody yourself (if you haven't already) - and don't forget the lessons you learned from that relationship (and on here).

He's not spoken to her since mid-February 2013.
