    Thanks for dissing my honeymoon!

I wasn't "dissing" it.... it simply isn't what we are looking for!

All these things combined, I think you need to focus on changing *what you do* more than *where you do it*.

Want to make it the trip of a lifetime? Do stuff you won't do again:
    Fly first class.
Book out the penthouse in a 5* hotel.
    Dine in a 3* restaurant.
See an opera, show, etc that you wouldn't normally spend the money on...

    You're a genius....... Thank you! :T:T

Glad its been helpful for you at least, as the OP herself only bothered replying to p!ss on Skintchick's cornflakes and hasn't responded to anybody else's lovely suggestions.

Sorry Person One.... I have been WORKING and so unable to reply until today.

I am very grateful for all of the (sensible) suggestions and some of them are downright genius.

I didn't realise you were expected to reply immediately to people's suggestions..... if this is forum 'etiquette' then I apologise. Unfortunately the demands on my time mean I can't spend all day browsing the web, but I have responded as soon as I was able to.

I missed off Tahiti....Bora Bora is spesh but not sure you'll get flights and a nice hotel for £2k.

Sadly not, and therein lies my problem!

Bora Bora is our dream, but at £15-20K for 2 people it's simply too expensive!

I will have to keep playing the Euromillions......!

Well if nothing else it was very braggy - I have this to spend and I have been here, well many of us have and don't feel the need to tell all,

Sorry - I thought it would be beneficial to list the places we had already been, otherwise people would have wasted their time suggesting places we had already visited.

Apology accepted, but you owe skintchick one too.

What can I say, it seemed odd that you had time to reply in order to rather unkindly dismiss one poster's suggestion but not for any other replies at all..

I replied to the first response, as I was still logged on. I then had to leave.

And I disagree, I didn't "diss" her holiday at all, I simply tried to explain why it didn't fit our criteria. However if she feels offended I apologise.

    Classic non apology there! :rotfl:

Come on, try to understand a bit. She replied quickly, gushing and clearly excited to tell you how wonderful her honeymoon in Venice was.

You basically said 'Nah, Venice isn't good enough for me'. Anybody could see that she'd feel deflated and a bit belittled by that.

Surely you see why that wasn't very nice?
  • Like I just said, if I have offended her, then I apologise...... what more do you want?!
