If you want exotic and special then Galapagos ticks the boxes but you would have to up your budget. The fact you do have a limit to your budget means you may not be able to do some things some people would consider really special

Well, due to this thread, I've had discussions with my (fairly secret) OH. We have decided on our honeymoon (!), starting off in Fiji for 7 days and then going to Samoa for another 7 days. It involves a lot of travel, but it will definitely be worth it. Both himself and I are very excited!!! :)

Glad its been helpful for you at least, as the OP herself only bothered replying to p!ss on Skintchick's cornflakes and hasn't responded to anybody else's lovely suggestions.

I still say Blackpool, maybe Rhyl at a push...

(I've always wanted to go to Fiji to cross the IDL on land, do that if you go.)

We had a fabulous honeymoon. We wanted to go to Venice, but decided to spend the money on our wedding instead (well worth it). We went to Hay on Wye and had an amazing time. You don't need to spend thousands or go somewhere 'exotic' to have a lovely honeymoon. All you need is good company, an open fire and a week with no mobile phones!

OP how about Port Talbot? I hear that the steel works can look quite impressive at night. It'll certainly be a talking point when you tell people where you went.

went to Costa Rica on our honeymoon in January (2009), it was awesome. there's nowhere else like it on earth. Has beaches, rainforests, people are incredibly friendly, would go back there tomorrow if i could

She said that Venice was not exotic and not special, then added it was "just another holiday".

I felt it was unecessary when I'd tried to answer her, and she didn't specify "hot" in her OP.

The OP might need to be more specific to get the kind of suggestions she has in mind.

You need to stop being so sensitive ...Venice in Jan ?for 2 weeks ? Not a sensible choice and as lovely as Venice is , it isn't exotic
