Just read through this thread and cannot believe you had to apologies to Person one for the crime of not responding quick enough! And the fact she accepted your apology!! Really you have to apologies on here now a days for not replying within a set time frame?!! And then getting told off again for not being sincere!! Some folk on here have ideas way above their station!
You've had some good ideas, can't really think of anywhere that hasn't already been suggested.
Must say I'm not a lover of Venice, especially not in winter, always smelt a bit funny the few times I've been!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Not read all this thread, but we're planning a honeymoon on the same sort of budget, and looking at El Dorado Seaside Suites in Mexico. Comes in about 2k each, and looks pretty lovely! A few good day trips nearby to take too like Chichen Itza.
More adventurous options might be a Botswanan Safari, or maybe a trip to Tanzania where you combine a few days' safari with an all-inclusive on the beach.
I know you've been to Bangkok, but don't know if you've donenthe rest of Thailand - the south with the islands is just amazing.
Malaysia maybe? Combine Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Langkawi?
Edit - just seen you've done Koh Samui so maybe Thialand is ticked off. Mauritius? Zanzibar? Both look pretty amazing.0 -

Well you haven't been to Venice thus far...
So easy to pop over.
You've done all the exciting holiday destinations you mention so maybe you need to look closer to home.
We went to Sicily, it was amazing, far too dull you for though.Sealed pot challange no: 3390 -
You haven't said whether you want beach/ city or adventure. If adventure, how about Costa Rica trek coast to coast for a charity of your choice?
Camping in the rainforest, white water rafting, snorkelling off the Caribbean coast.
You could ask for charity donations instead of gifts.
There are less demanding trips too.

Havana, then Cuban beach.
Azores or a Gulet cruise in Turkey, neither good in Jan however.

If it was me, I would look at Zanzibar, or Riviera Maya in Mexico. Both are places that I intend going to in the next few years. Much as I love Venice (have been twice and will return) I probably wouldn't pick January.0

Exotic, different and some of the worlds greatest experiences in one place.
Where abouts are you?
I spent a month in Tanzania travelling between Moshi, Arusha, a Serengeti safari, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. Moshi was the nicer city for me but we found a Scottish cafe in Arusha that sold short bread. In Zanzibar we had to have a separate visa stamp and there was only one road round the island - ended up on a bus full of chickens trying to get from south to north!
I would definitely go back again but not on honeymoon, we'd take the kids when they were old enough to appreciate what they were seeing.
I'd also love to go to Botswanathough this thread is pushing me towards Venice.
