A two centre holiday doing a safari in Africa and then on to Mauritius.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

I missed off Tahiti....Bora Bora is spesh but not sure you'll get flights and a nice hotel for £2k.
  • Making a honeymoon special is not about a place, it's about sharing a unique experience with someone you love. I went backpacking on my honeymoon. A friend went to Disneyland. She would have hated mine, I would have hated hers. We each cherish the experiences we had on our respective trips with our loved ones.

Venice may not be exotic but it is one of the most romantic places on earth, which is surely a pre requisite for a honeymoon?

A lot of the places mentioned as exotic are beach destinations and in reality one beach is very much like another in that kind of place. We have visited quite a few of the places mentioned but none of them do it for me like Venice does. We go at least once a year, and never tire of it.

Glad its been helpful for you at least, as the OP herself only bothered replying to p!ss on Skintchick's cornflakes and hasn't responded to anybody else's lovely suggestions.

I still say Blackpool, maybe Rhyl at a push...

(I've always wanted to go to Fiji to cross the IDL on land, do that if you go.)

I never got to do that when I went there as it wasn't anywhere near where we were staying unfortunately and as we were backpacking couldn't afford to do everything. You did see pictures of people with half their body in Thursday and half in Friday lol!

I have to say I wouldn't go back to Fiji again. The tiny islands high up above the main island are nice crystal clear water etc, but they do take around 1-6 hours on a boat to get to, we went to two different ones and they are really expensive even in dormitories. Plus I had what we called 'Fiji tummy' for the entire time. The main capital & island is kind of a dump with rubbish beaches. So anyone looking to go make sure you just visit the tiny islands!

The people are really lovely. Plus it's amusing seeing the queen on a bank note so far away - and she's smiling on it which made us laugh, the Fijians said well its because she's in Fiji! :)
