Why can we not have a system like the French where the insurance companies issue an insurance "disc" which is displayed in the windscreen (like our car tax disc) to show that the driver is insured. This would cut our insurance rates hopefully.:beer:0

I would ban the selling on of credit agreements by one financial company to another. This would help to avoid confusion and sometimes legal fees in trying to sort out correct debt position.0

People need to understand that banks create money out of thin air in order to lend it to people and businesses - and receive interest on those loans. This means there is too much (electronically created) money in circulation, reducing the value of the real money that ordinary people earn and spend. Only the Bank of England - or similar should have the right to create money - in the public interest.0

Judges and Magistrates should, above a minimum level, be allowed to impose fines which actually affect the convicted person. For example, a news bulletin recently reported a well known and very well paid footballer was fined £900 for serious traffic offences. In reality, that probably represents loose change to him, or a few seconds salary when he reportedly earns (!) up to £200,000 per week - more than most people earn in 3 years. If Judges and Magistrates were allowed to impose fines based on the amount earnt over a set period of time, say 30 days, maybe the person concerned would have more respect for the law.0

I really like this idea (suggested by other mse's, not my idea)
Putting extra tax on petrol and scrapping road tax, would save a huge amount of hassle!
I pay around £380 a year for my little two seater but hardly drive it (2k-3k miles if that) ...other car users with lower emmisions and lower tax may do an extra 18,000miles more than me-havent done the maths but i would imagine its far more polluting! The idea of putting it on petrol is a fairer way to do it!0 -
Park in a resident's bay without a valid permit where I live (the London Borough of Brent) and you can not just be ticketed (at a cost of £50? £60?) but towed away, at a cost of £250 and an evening out of your life to retrieve your car. The punishment is completely disproportionate to the offence. If your vehicle is obstructing or hazardous, fair enough. But otherwise it's a policy that is officious and vicious. 0

Easy way to make sure everyone pays road tax. add a penny to each litre of fuel, heavier vehicles, wagons etc and people who cover vast distances ( causing wear and tear) pay more, this is fair a bit like toll.0

Immigrants should get no benefits until they have paid into the system for a period of time (Maybe 1 year). Then should receive a proportion of benefits until fully paid up (Maybe 10 years).0
-
Users should have to register and pay tax for !!!!!!. This would
- stop children's access, they don't have bank cards
- assist the authorities in tracking/preventing !!!!!phile rings
- raise money
Users who are comfortable with their use shouldn't object to registering, to ensure correct details are registered you charge them.0 -
Ex Pats should not be allowed to come back to this country and get free medical treatment, without being back in the system for some years and paying into it all the time.
It was their choice to go to another country to live.0
