I too am in generous credit with my current supplier, but was moved to the standard rate when my deal ended in Spetember, so I am stuck paying the higher rate until these guys actually pull their finger out.
I applied on the 8th September and still have even had my meter readings requested.
This is not good, I applied on 21st Sept and moved today.0 -
Just to let you know my experience....I switched on 25 September via MSE energy club.
My welcome pack arrived shortly after (letter & booklet confirming my tariff & bank details.)
Letter arrived dated 23 October confirming M&S start my supply on 29 October & asking for meter readings.
I phoned their automated service yesterday (28 Oct) and left my final readings and got an automated call today asking me for my meter readings.Phoned them and spoke to a person this time who said they have had lots of calls like this and so I gave her my readings. At least the phone call was free 0800 from my landline.
ETA - Ziggy I phoned 0800 917 0718 (southern electric/m&S energy) and didn't speak my answers and was transferred to a person but I was holding for a good 10 mins around 5pm0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗
House purchase completed FEB 2023 🥳🍾 Left work. 🤗

I was worried about the automated phone service so just called the main 0800 number and spoke to someone in person, I told her that I couldn't submit the reading on-line so she said that once the account is activated I would be able to in future, I logged into my account afterwards and saw there was a box there now to put the reading in.0 -
An amusing side note was getting my second sorry to see you're leaving letter today from Eon with the usual blurb about if you change your mind to ring this number. First one came around two weeks ago so I'm now expecting a third letter in fourteen days time saying look mate we thought you were leaving a month ago but m and s energy don't seem to want you so come back to us on our super saver plan and stop paying over the odds on our garbage standard rate.0

HI I switched from E.on to M&S.
Sent a meter reading then was asked for another immediately (which I didn't supply as I assumed it was a duplicate request). Was told I had switched approximately about three weeks after I started the move.
Website's not really user friendly. I'm massively in credit with eon at the momoent. Any diea what happens to the credit? Do they refund my bank? Send me cheque. Forward it toi the next lot? If you paid by direct debit E.on should credit your bank account. If they are slow give them a reminder.0

Eon were very prompt with a refund when we switched from them last year, but I think it depends how quickly your new supplier passes on the final meter reading.
They also told us not to cancel our direct debit. They paid the refund into our bank account and then canceled the DD themselves.
Altogether last year's switch from Eon to Scottish Power was much more efficient and quicker than our current switch from Scottish Power to M&S.0 -

Well I thought it was all too good to be true! Logged into my old account with co-op and they are charging on 5 Nov for gas full direct debit. Phoned them and they say M&S have taken electric but not gas.
I suppose now I have supplied M&S both final readings for gas and elec they will sort this out and pass these on in due course to co-op who will then cancel my direct debit after settling final bill?? Or should I phone M&S..... may ring them later .... thankfully they are not charging me until 1 December so hope its sorted out by then as don't want to be charged twice.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

It has now been over 4.5 weeks since swapping to the original fix and save tarrif.
I have received my welcome pack and got my online activation code (it works and it says quarterly but I assume that will fix itself once swapped) should I be phoning someone to see when my activation date is due or am I being impatient?
If I should be phoning someone what number should be used the letter with the activation code was 0800 048 2413?
Can the same number be used to submit initial meter readings?

Thanks guys. E.on have now credited my account so that's a relief! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
